Flashdrive 1 cover extras (Patreon)

I recently did a cover for Team Husman latest comic, Flashdrive #1 :) This is part of their Semi-Auto Semla comic universe, which really has that GunsmithCats vibe, that's why we decided the style to be similar to that series for these covers!

So here I'm posting some making-of for the illustration :D The team usually send me a brief of what they like for the cover, complete with designs of the characters appearing and such.

This cover was quite a challenge because I don't often draw cars and vehicles! I took some time to look at pics of the car and the motorbike appearing on the cover, so I could draw them. This lead to the layout, a simple sketch of the overall cover idea. In this case I had the layout approved immediately, so I could get to work on the pencil/inks. Since I work in digital, I make different layers for the background and the characters, which means I can easily move the elements around the page if I need to! Layers are very useful! I show the inks to the team to be sure all is good for coloring, which takes lot of work and lot of layers, and leads to the finished pic, which you can see here without the title graphic!
