So I've managed to put a load of work into the new Azula scenes and managed to finish a couple of those as well as some other stuff. A few of them are of a "let's slowly toe the line and then step over it"- variety. I told you we were going to put in a lot of new stuff for the new route and that hasn't changed yet. in fact, I've still got a lot left to do.
Unfortunately I had to redo a scene from scratch, losing quite a bit of time in the process. The original scene looked good enough during the sketching phase, but after putting it together it looked... bland. I tried to save it by changing it here and there but in the end I just had to scrap it and do something entirely different.
I just can't leave in scenes which feel lackluster to me, it kills my motivation. It might not have been as bad as I make it out to be, but the replacement scene looks a lot better so I feel I made the right choice. The coder/writer was especially happy with them so here's hoping you will too.
All you Mai lovers(me being one of them) will be happy to see I'm finally starting to give her more scenes. The thief-route did give you some fun time with her (IF you made the right choices) but, putting it mildly, not nearly as much as Ty Lee.
That's partly because we don't want to take our patrons along for a semi never ending development cycle. With four books to cover we better make some tough choices here and there to keep things flowing. The other part of it is it's just so much more fitting to have the Mai scenes during the Zuko/love route!
Btw I had a hardware failure! There used to be a time when such things only happened to other people. Apparently the more you rely on hardware the less trustworthy it gets? No worries though, it's just a simple broken bearing of a fan so nothing serious. The replacement part should be arriving soon. I do keep my file backups in order so even if.... let's not finish that thought and tempt fate... *knocks on wood anyway*.
And just so I won't have to finish on that I'll just mention the new raffle ticket winners have been picked and contacted.
