This was a man who was blessed to have a satisfactory home life but felt like he was missing something. I don’t think it was ever played out like Mr Clark was considering cheating on his wife. I choose to believe he saw her like one would see an interesting painting and naturally wonder what the subject was thinking while it was being painted. The scene near the end, with the rose for his wife always breaks me. I’m glad you enjoyed it.

An interesting story about this. Some of this movie was filmed in Winnipeg while I was living there and working as a long haul driver. I was crossing the boarder at Emerson MB and Pembina ND one night when Richard Gere’s RV was crossing to return home. I assume a driver had been hired to take it back to the star’s home since the movie star was not present. Oddly enough there was a lot of opened liquor in the RV which is not allowed to cross the border. As I was leaving the customs area I saw a customs offices having to poor out all that liquor. All I could think about was how the driver was going to have to explain the loss to Mr Gere. Lol
