Interesting tidbits - You said that you THINK you've seen every Tarantino movie except Once Upon a Time... but this movie is sort of a prequel/ supplement to the movie Planet Terror from 2007 (also a horror movie, starring Rose McGowan and Freddie Rodriguez). Characters in that movie appear in this movie as minor characters in the hospital (The nurse, the sheriff, etc). Given what happens with the characters in the movie Planet Terror, it's safe to say that this movie Death Proof takes place first in the timeline. I happened to see Planet Terror first, not knowing that the two movies were connected at the time, so when I watched this movie it was an interesting experience to see those characters pop up again. I was like "Oh hey it's them!" Also, Tarantino became familiar with Zoe Bell ('Zoe the cat' who is the one hanging on the hood of the car) on the set of Kill Bill. She was Uma Thurman's actual stunt double in those movies. She and Tarantino became friends and Tarantino was determined to have her star in one of his other movies. So not only did he cast her as herself in this movie, but she also has very minor cameos in Django and Once Upon a Time. During the entire chase where she's clinging to the hood of the car, she didn't have a stunt double because, well... she IS the stunt double. So Tarantino made sure to include plenty of shots where you can clearly see that it's ACTUALLY her on the hood the whole time during all of that. Needless to say, if you have no memory of watching Planet Terror, you REALLY should watch that one too.
