Oh, and Wednesday was played by child actress (at the time) Christina Ricci, and you aren't the only one who thought she stood out. This movie kind of put her on the map and made her famous, and she has since grown up and starred in many more movies, including one movie that you've seen already - she played the daughter in the movie Casper.

Now that you have posted the YouTube version, as I predicted, you have quite a few people objecting to you calling them 'monsters'.... But here's the thing - although they aren't really 'monsters' per se, I didn't really have an objection to you thinking of them that way as you were watching the film, because it isn't really clear WHAT exactly they are. No they may not be monsters as we typically think of them, but there is definitely something supernatural about them. They have abilities beyond what humans have, they can survive many things that would kill an average person (this movie alone shows that they can't be electrocuted to death or poisoned, and Pugsley getting his hand caught in a bear trap apparently had no effect on him). That's not to say that they can't be killed at ALL (they do have a cemetery full of dead relatives after all), but the entire family is clearly either resistant to, or outright immune to many things that would kill an ordinary person so.... What does that make them? I have no idea. But I also never really cared to examine it too deeply - I just liked the family and accepted it for what it was 😆
