Me, trying to reassure you about Lake Placid WITHOUT spoiling anything: "No no really, I know you're afraid of alligators/crocodiles but don't be afraid of this movie, it's REALLY funny and not that scary, I can't tell you why, but trust me, you're really going to like it, I promise, TRUST me 🙏" Nick: finally watches Lake Placid "I really enjoyed that... I'm surprised how much I enjoyed it honestly" Me, relieved, and somewhat smugly: "Told ya so!"😆 😆😆 No but seriously, I'm really happy that you enjoyed it. It warmed my heart to see you laughing as much as you did. This movie is packed with so many laugh out loud jokes that you couldn't help but miss some of them as you were talking. I can't wait for you to discover them when you go back to edit. Oliver Platt as Hector Cyr definitely steals this movie. To me, the adversarial relationship and constant bickering between the Sheriff and Hector Cyr (played by Brendan Gleason and Oliver Platt) is the crown jewel of this movie. The big monster crocodile of the film is practically outshined by the two of them.
