Before I watch the video but after watching your intro: Once again, I'm sorry that you feel like you have to defend your opinions on a movie for people. Whenever people have strong affection for a movie, you are ALWAYS going to have the people who get defensive when you wind up not liking it as much as they do. It just can't be avoided unfortunately. In this case you are definitely not alone. I personally was never a fan of the character of Mater and didn't like that the second movie focused so much on him. In fact, I was so less-than-thrilled with the second one that I don't even remember if I watched the third movie. I probably did, but I don't remember anything about it... So in a sense I'll be watching it again for the first time with you. And ALWAYS be honest about your opinions Nick, no matter what the general response is. If people can't be mature about the fact that some people are just not going to like the same things that they like, then that is THEIR problem, not yours 🤍

When Doc’s friends were saying they ran moonshine, they we implying that they were manufacturing and distributing illegal fuel. This is a reference to the prohibition era. Moonshine itself was a term used to describe homemade alcohol back when it was illegal to sell alcohol in the United States. Making homemade alcohol is still illegal, because bad batches commonly cause blindness and death.

The "moon was always shining on us" bit is referring to moonshine: illegal alcohol. Most of the early NASCAR drivers got their start making midnight runs carrying the alcohol. Racing and running from the police require pretty much the same skills, and often used the same car.

I feel so bad that you feel the need to apologize for how you react to a movie. Haters gonna hate. I still enjoy your reactions regardless, and I know I'm not alone. That being said, it's been a few years since I watched this movie, and it's better than I remember because I didn't like it at all I think when I first watched it. I think the main thing I don't enjoy about this film is the ending. In all three of the films, I feel like we never actually get to see Lightning win any of his big races. I know he does win a lot, but we don't really get to see much of it. And then when we finally get to the end of this film, just to see Cruz win is almost disappointing to me. Maybe I'm alone in thinking this, but I'm like I didn't watch the first two films and then sit through the third one only to see Lightning give up his win to a random new character. I guess it's cool that he became her trainer, but I didn't connect with her personally and was just left disappointed when I finished the film. I enjoyed your reaction to it though, and I do like that they made Doc a big part in this one. :)

This is actually my favorite as well and I got so excited when I saw you watch it. This movie had me crying at so many points. Also not sure if anyone told you but her taking the number 51 is cause that was Doc Hudsons number. Just another nod to the fabulous Hudson hornet.
