Holly

My fellow night owl hard at work again I see. Can't wait to watch this! I should be trying to go to sleep as I have to work tomorrow morning... But guess what I'll be doing for about the next 2 hours 😆

NickFlixx

😂😂hope you enjoy it, have no idea how this reaction will turn out!

Holly

All right, after having watched your reaction let me say this: Many reactors make the mistake of thinking that in order to 'react' they need to be constantly talking. Let me reassure you once and for all that 'reacting' does not have to mean 'talking'. One of the best things for me about your reactions is that you openly express what you're feeling, and those feelings that play across your face speak a thousand words without you having to utter a single word out loud. In fact there are many reactors that suffer the problem of talking way TOO MUCH, especially during tense dramatic scenes, or they talk over important dialogue. Never apologize for not talking very much during a reaction - it simply means that you were engrossed in the story and you were being deeply affected by it, whether in a good way or a bad way... All of which is to say, don't be nervous about how your reaction turned out... Personally I loved it 🙂

Great reaction. Sweeney Todd is my favourite musical of all time and this movie is a really good version of it. So many Harry Potter connections too, Emma Thompson (Trelawney) and Imelda Staunton (Umbridge) have played Mrs Lovett on stage.

I actually thought Nick talked too much lol. There are way too many reactors that give way too much commentary and miss a whole lot of story. Sometimes it is better to see Nicks facial expressions than to hear his words. It speaks more that way haha. Knowing now how he feels about this movie I wonder what he’ll think of Rocky horror picture show lol.

KyWanderer_90

Definitely my favorite Stephen Sondheim musical; one of the greatest musical writers of all time may he rest in peace (he recently passed away). Idk why I like things like this that are dark and disturbing like this. Maybe it was the music that kept me hooked to it. Definitely one of your best reactions yet.

Holly

Lol yeah I think I commented on some other post a while back that I really I think it's a 50/50 toss-up as to whether or not he'll wind up liking Rocky Horror. It's another musical that would be unlike anything he's used to seeing, and it gets so surreal and over the top that Nick will either wind up liking it, or he'll spend the whole movie sitting there thinking "WTF am I watching?!" 😆😆

I'd love to see a reaction to the PBS Sunday in the Park with George but it's a hard musical to fully appreciate on the first viewing. If you haven't ever heard it look up the recording of Sondheim playing through Sweeney Todd for potential investors, the audio quality is bad but its great to hear him perform all the songs just him at the piano.

Major

Yeah I’m a bit worried cause I liked Rocky horror a lot. Haha. The music is awesome and can win lots of people over but the storyline is the big question. A musical that he would probably like is into the woods by Disney. 🙂

I cannot believe I somehow missed this notification. I'm so excited to see your reaction (which is always so genuine) to one of my favorite films. ❤

Iben Frederiksen

Oh gods Nick your face when you realized that she meant to use the body as meat in her pies, cracked me up xD

Iben Frederiksen

Nick have you seen Les Miserable? (2012), it's a musical that I think you'd love.

Kayla Riley

Cats in pies don’t compare to her new meat pies 😂

Heidi Elizabeth Marcum

Les Miserables is definitely a movie on my list of movies I hope to request from Nick at some point down the road. It's truly a beautiful movie, stage musical, and book. :) Heidi

Jessi

LOL Yay! "They got Bellatrix AND Snape in this??"

Jessi

And Helena Bonham Carter is in that one too. ;)
