yes! Step In Time is my absolute favorite song and dance number from this movie for sure. Dick Van Dyke is an international treasure for sure! did you notice that he also played the elder partner from the bank? he's a man of many talents haha also, I loved that Mary Poppins' main purpose was not just to take care of the children but to help the family as a whole be more connected to each other. once that job was done, they no longer needed her and she could move on to the next family that needed her. btw, my favorite song/score is Feed the Birds because the song and message are absolutely beautiful and always make me emotional. I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie and your reaction was exactly what I hoped it would be. please don't let others' negativity affect you so much. idk why people expect everyone to have the same experiences. personally, I think it's great that you don't know some of these things; it makes your reactions that much more enjoyable for me.

Since you loved the music, dancing, and choreography of this movie so much, I'm really thinking that you need to watch and react to more classic Hollywood musicals. Top of that list would have to be Singing in the Rain (voted by the American Film Institute as one of the greatest movie musicals of all time and starring one of the greatest classic Hollywood dancers of all time - Gene Kelly).

I was thinking he would like Bed knobs and Broomsticks as well. It has a similar tone compared to Mary Poppins. Singing in the rain is definitely a must watch. Others would be West side story and my fair Lady!

Havent started yet, actually have never seen this movie myself, which is why I felt I had to comment about your words at the start before I watch. The reason I love your reactions is because they're honest, so please don't feel bad about admiting being naive about obvious things. Those people complaining have no imagination, there are so many iconic things that just miss us by for whatever reason, no matter how ingrained in culture. Especially now that we don't all watch the same things on tv, everyone just chooses what they consume, which is great. I don't understand how they could get it so backwards, but those are some of your most honest moments when you see these iconic moments and realise what is so great about these movies you've heard talked about so much. Anyway, looking forward to finding out whats so great about Mary Poppins with you :)
