The story was mistranslated from the source. Cinderella’s slippers were meant to be made of fur, not glass. In the orignal story, the stepsisters are actually brought back to the palace (one cutting off their heal and the other their toe so that they’d fit the shoe), but they were brought back once the prince noticed blood. It’s amazing how Disney’s managed to turn such dark stories into children movies.

Hi there, Nick... Gah... Okay, usually I don't like to leave comments until I watch a whole reaction, and I just started this one, but I have a few recommendations for you, one of which I keep thinking about while watching you enjoy this one, but it keeps coming to mind to the point of distraction. So I'm saying it now so that it's out of the way and I can focus on the reaction itself. So for the first recommendation, the one that's distracting me. I know you don't do shows normally, and it's probably too much of a commitment for you, but I have to ask. Have you seen Once Upon a Time? The show? I realize that considering how much you love Disney the chances that you haven't already seen it are very remote. I hope you haven't, because I would love to see you react to that. If you have not, even if you can't react to it, you need to watch it in your spare time. OMG. That show is not just good. It was made for you. As much as I love Disney, old and new, I agree with what you sometimes say about how you don't always get to know the characters, or how the relationships just happen, or how sometimes time jumps skip over them all together. In older Disney, a lot of the times, the princess just sort of falls for a prince in seconds, and villains don't always have strong backstories. They just do things because the plot needs it. The thing about Once is that the show fixes all of those issues. It does some genius things with the characters, and the world building is fantastic. Plus it has some concepts that I know would blow your mind. Trust me, within about ten minutes of the first episode, I'm fairly sure you'll see the genius of it and you'll know exactly why I recommend it. It's brilliant. For a couple of other recommendations, I would love to see you react to Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Swan Princess. I think you'd enjoy them all, but especially the first two. Again, I think you'll see why I say that for all three of them fairly quickly. All right, back to Cinderella...
