I love watching you react to this knowing your love of witches.

And also fun to hear you call it "green screen" when it was very real theater. lol

So happy to see you react to this beautiful classic. I actually think it was real, but she just came in and out of Oz through unconsciousness. Crossing into another dimension while unconscious is a very common trope in dimensional fantasy, or what is known as portal fantasy. When Dorothy was knocked out, part of her was in Oz, which is really just another dimension. The versions of the other people that she saw in Oz were kind of like interdimensional twins whose parallel lives or personalities mirrored the versions of themselves from the other side. It's probably just my personal head cannon, and it's far from a perfect theory, but that's what I've always thought. If you messaged me, Nick, I think you know which movie I would pick. :D

I read the book and I actually recommend reading it. The movie is a cut down version of the entire story and it has some really cool other elements that were left out. The movie Oz with James Franco I think tried to tackle the entire story but the movie is SO BAD I would never recommend reacting to it.

I agree the books are great and the Franco OZ stinks. In the books it isn’t a dream.

So, a not-so-fun fact about the pig scene in the beginning. Farming pigs can be dangerous with pigs of that size. Pigs have been known to eat live humans.

There was a moment, no longer than a couple heartbeats where you commented on the "Primitive Greenscreen"... Here's a thought for you that may blow your mind. Those gorgeous backgrounds were massive, hand-painted canvases, 'cause that's how they had to do it back in the day. :)

Who else wants to see Nick react to "Return to Oz?"

This is a very random anecdote about my family, but my great grandmother was one of the people in the Emerald City. They basically did a big open casting for short people and my mother's side of the family is short, but not enough to play a munchkin (I think they cast them in LA anyways). I forget which one she is, but she's there at the front when they arrive for like...1-2 seconds and my family loves telling the story everytime someone mentions this movie. I mean, if you're going to be an extra in a movie, this one is a pretty great one! :)
