With the entire Avatar the Last Airbender vs the Legend of Korra debate, I think a lot of it comes down to how old people were when they watched it first, and which show they watched first. I watched both The Last Airbender and Korra when I was a teen, and so I connected a lot more with Korra and her friends than I did with Aang, because Korra and I were the same age. I also think that if you watch Korra first, watching The Last Airbender afterwards can feel a little jarring, because the animation is so beautiful and detailed in Korra and less so in Airbender.
