Easily the darkest Disney film. None of the bad guys were punished for what they did. The just got away with everything. And all of those little boys who were turned into donkeys and not rescued... just very disturbing. Gepetto and Jiminy Cricket although sweet are the worst guardians. Pinocchio was better off as a puppet.

That's debatable. Disney's The Black Couldron :) it's much darker than Pinocchio, so is Bambi, at least, in my opinion.

My first full length reaction - I enjoyed watching this along with the movie. The scene where Lampwick turns into a donkey in shadow and starts yelling for his mama is easily one of Disney's darkest and most horrifying scenes...gives me chills every time. When You Wish Upon a Star is my second favorite movie song ever (Over the Rainbow is my fave).

For my Master's Degree I actually did a whole project on Pinocchio and how the source material is even scarier than the movie and Pinocchio is just a bad kid, haha. It was more intricate than that (I got an A!), but the movie is great and, if you ever have tine, it's a short children's book, but it's even scarier and worth the read. :)
