The t.v. show is really for little kids. I love the movies and my kids have watched the show but I could never sit and watch it. It's only a step up from Paw Patrol honestly. Not being a hater but it's not enjoyable for adults or even teens. And I'm a huge Avatar fan so it's not like I'm above animation.

Cute little detail is that at the end when Hiccup snatches the black sheep he puts it in Astrid's basket. Because Hiccup is best boy. I think you see what I mean about the second act of this and the previous. Second acts can often lag but they're the best part of these two and I like to figure out why and how to relate it to my own writing.

I'm gonna have to disagree with Libby DVR on the shows. While they are aimed at a younger audience, particularly Riders/Defenders of Berk, they do have their strong points too. If you've never sat through and watched the series you wouldn't know that, because I'll admit, it does take a couple of episodes to find its feet. It's true, there's no sane way to suggest it ever gets to the level of an all-time Great like Avatar, but the shows ARE generally pretty good, and watchable for teens and young adults. I've watched the shows more than once as a member of both age categories and enjoyed them. Now don't get me wrong, there are some weaknesses that the shows undeniably do have, and there are some times when I have to roll my eyes at the show, as well as a rare handful of moments where I'm practically pulling my hair out and yelling at the screen "That makes no freaking sense at all you stupid idiot writers! Just because this is for kids doesn't mean you can do something that blatantly ridiculous!" BUT those moments are few and pretty far between. As I've said, the shows, once they get going, are genuinely pretty good. They have quite a lot of good stories, some great ones, excellent humor, do a great job of developing the characters that don't get a lot of attention in the movies. In fact, the characterization in general is one of the strengths of the shows. They do a great job of handling all the main cast and introduce a wide array of new characters, most, if not all of which, become pretty fantastic characters in their own right. So yeah, if you really love the characters and setting that are introduced to you in these movies, and are willing to accept that some of the episodes are downright mediocre and push through them anyway, I can nearly guarantee that you will enjoy the Riders of Berk, Defenders of Berk, and especially the Race To The Edge shows.
