Bushido formalized earlier samurai moral values and ethical code, most commonly stressing a combination of sincerity, frugality, loyalty, martial arts mastery and honour until death. Born from Neo-Confucianism during times of peace in the Edo period (1603–1868) and following Confucian texts, while also being influenced by Shinto and Zen Buddhism, it allowed the violent existence of the samurai to be tempered by wisdom, patience and serenity.

Bushido indeed took main stage during Edo period as an ethic codex for ruling samurai class, however the basic philosophy was born already during 12th century in Kamakura period. But yeah, there was indeed involvement of different teachings like you mentioned when Tokugawa shogunate took the rule over Japan. Either way, the miniature armor and the mask look very authentically - lot of space to paint different armor patterns. Great job as always!

That was the idea, I also originally thought about making space for insignia on their chests, but it won't be possible to paint on with poses I had in mind. Third one is coming right up!
