Help pick the Horror movie we will react to!

Please feel free to suggest other options in the comments for future polls!

*NOTE: I have seen Saw & Slither, so this would only be Sam's first time reaction.

We received a ton suggestions on the last polls, but we are trying to keep the poll sizes more reasonable. We have noted all suggestions for future polls!

Midsommer!!!!!!! C’mon guys - pleeeease!

dieselbeast

Been wanting Sam to react to SAW for the longest lol but I'm cool with Midsommer 😁

YoureMrLebowski

the exact quote was "Ari Aster, you sick mother f*cker." so yes, Midsommer got my vote. 🙂

Paul Cox

Fright Night heck yessssssssssss

Samolina Pilchard

I wouldn’t describe Eraserhead as horror. Still should definitely see it. In fact, I wouldn’t know how to classify it, David Lynch is in his own category.

Smooticus

Ironic that i saw most of these during my annual 31 days of horror movies during October

Nick of Time

Hellraiser isn’t really scary, it’s just really gross. Same goes for Eraserhead now that I think about it, but I hope it wins because, you know, Lynch. Eraserhead is not only Lynch’s first film but also arguably his most bizarre and disturbing. It also happened to be Stanley Kubrick’s favorite film.

ron clint

Midsommar is in a class by itself, and the entire movie has a deeper meaning than on the surface. Be prepared and enter at your own risk ...

David Crabtree

Scream 3, just so we can get to Scream 4, 5 and 6!

mikethemotormouth

Now that Daniel and Sam are parents, they are ready for Eraserhead

Tristan Durant

SCREAM! SCREAM! SCREAM! 🔪 😱

Robert Boyd

Classic list. Personally, I hope Carrie wins. Eraserhead is one of the most bizarre movies I’ve ever seen, and I love it. Fun fact: Sissy Spacek, who starred in Carrie, and her husband Jack Fisk helped fund Eraserhead for David Lynch. Ms. Spacek would later costar in The Straight Story, which is another great film directed by David Lynch.

Robert Boyd

Yes, I read that Kubrick screened Eraserhead for Jack Nicholson and Shelley Duvall before filming The Shining to get them in the mood for his film. Eraserhead is not scary in the traditional sense but definitely is a horror film.

The Invisible Man (2020).

Jimmie V

Love me some Eraserhead, but it's more of an art-house film with some horror sensibilities.

Anonymous

Apparently Eraserhead is good? I voted for Hannibal because it would be familiar and make sense to the channel

Anonymous

The rest of the films are just garbage films they call “horror”. Like SAW films. So bad

Anonymous

I need to watch Eraserhead it sounds like

Anonymous

blob! 😁🩸🩸

djKENTO

Nobody ever reacts to Hannibal which is such a disappointment because Ridley Scott just absolutely goes off and the performance from Gary Oldman is bananas.

Dryfesands

"The Wicker Man" is a far better movie than Midsommar and should really be watched before it.

Nick of Time

It’s been a quite a while since I’ve seen it, but you’re totally right. After I read your comment I had to think “Gary Oldman was in that?” aaand then it struck me. Holy crap. Yeah. Wow.

Nick of Time

“Good” is an opinion. Eraserhead is art. And yes, it should be experienced.

djKENTO

Hey my homie directed that. Fantastic film. Let’s get some Upgrade in here too. Whannel Double Feature.

Nick of Time

I just watched The Straight Story for my first time a couple weeks ago. I was hesitant for so long, because it’s not your typical Lynch film (he made it for Disney for Pete’s sake!) but I’m so glad I finally watched it. Beautiful film.

Tostito Buddy

Slither's just never gonna happen, I've accepted it now.

f hf

Midsommar was just funny lol

Linda

Fright Night! So good. So campy. 🔥🔥

Linda

Midsommer is not horror. In fact, it owes a lot to Wicker Man, which is creepy AF, but not horror either. Some try to call these "folk horror," but that doesn't quite cover it either.

This is a general comment for Sam and Dan, about the way your specific page displays within Patreon, because it doesn’t apply to others I subscribe to. A couple of months ago something changed with your user interface. On the polls, selections don’t register when clicked. A check mark doesn’t appear even after repeated attempts. Only thing that happens is a darker outline appears around the whole box that contains the title (but a check doesn’t appear), but as soon as the screen is touched for scrolling, even that disappears. Returning to the site later, sometimes the selected title has a check mark, but most of time it still doesn’t. So the polls are basically unusable. The other problem is less important but still annoying: there’s almost no difference in color or brightness of the Heart (Like button) when clicked. I usually have to un-click in order to find that it’s already been clicked. This might reflect upon your selected “color scheme” because other creators have a huge difference, like Lime Green when clicked and black when un-clicked, even though there’s only a minor difference in their overall color scheme, compared to yours. Anybody else have these issues? I’m running a fully updated iPad, and the changes noted didn’t correspond to an update, anyway. Was a change made to your user interface roughly a couple of months ago? I’ve tried all the usual tricks, like multiple log-outs and log-ins, reboots, and all that business. And both of these issues seemed to appear at the same time.

Tostito Buddy

Please don't interrupt my personal growth with your logic, I am at peace, and that is what's important right now.

Nick Parker

Right on. It is massively underrated. Hopkins is as good as ever. It might get a bad rap because of the "dinner" scene.

TBR_Schmitt

We didn't change anything, but there was a change to patreon! I'm sorry you're having difficulties with the voting! I'm going to go into the settings and see if I can change them to a different color if that's possible. I just tried voting on my phone app and I"m able to, but if there is a bug, I'm hoping patreon will address in a new update! I would recommend submitting a ticket to patreon directly and I will do the same. Sorry again for the issues! I hate hearing that, but always appreciate the feedback! -Sam

TBR_Schmitt

I think the color setting should be in your settings! I see a light, dark or system setting! -Sam

PIG

But they’re all gonna laugh at you.

Jimmie V

Minor thing.... he didn't make it FOR Disney, he made the film, screened it at Cannes, and THEN Disney bought the distribution rights.

Samolina Pilchard

True enough, but overall it’s just strange, surreal and dreamlike— like the opening shots of The Elephant Man, but feature length

Tyler Foster

David: I find that voting is often broken with the Patreon App, which I only installed because one of my other Patreon users is doing chats and those can only be accessed within the app. If I open a browser and make sure I'm voting using the website, it usually works. I also just tried to add a vote now and discovered I also needed, even on desktop, to drill into the specific post before it would register the vote. I cannot do it from the general TBR Schmitt landing page, or the general Patreon homepage either.

David W.

He's even got to film in sections of Old Firenze that had not been open to any filmings ever.

David Wilkins

Sam — I haven’t changed any of my settings, but curiously, the Heart symbols are now a brighter and more vivid blue than the last time I checked a couple of days ago. Even though it was a minor issue, the difference—for whatever reason, is now much better. Still no difference in the voting action, but since no others have expressed the same problem, it must be a glitch on my end. Thanks for your response.
