The Rock (1996) First Time Watching! Full Movie Reaction!!

Leaving Las Vegas, Vampires Kiss, Pig, are a few great Nicolas Cage films

I really enjoy watching this movie. RIP Sean Connery & Willie Garson (Willie had a small role, but he was an actor I always liked). The rope he was pulling out of the wall in the shower is to use as a clothes line. Not just a Michael Bay movie, but Don Simpson and Jerry Bruckheimer were well known for producing big action films. After Don Simpson's passing Jerry Bruckheimer was like a loose cannon, and the movies he produced were cranked up another eleven notches. It was almost like Don Simpson kept him on a short leash. But in their day, if you saw Simpson/Bruckheimer in the credits then you knew you were in for one hell of a fun ride. Bruckheimer still makes big action movies, but as fun as they are they are usually just a bit too far over the top.

Nerd Going Outside

This movie is absurd but I can't say I didn't enjoy the excuse for a rewatch, hah. And FWIW, would be VERY here for you guys going through the original Connery Bond films - Dr No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, and You Only Live Twice. They are certainly a product of their time (Dr No came oout in 1962) but Connery is great and they have really influenced the culture over the last 60 years.

Nic Cage at his over-acting best. This is a great movie to just shut down with. Empty your head because you don't need it. I do love this movie.

Great Reaction as always ;) Another Great Alcatraz Film is "Escape from Alcatraz" from 1979 with Clint Eastwood!! This is a Classic and a Must See !! Another Great Sean Connery Movies are "The Red Tent" from 1969 and "The Anderson Tapes" from 1971 ... And "The Russia House" from 1990 with Michelle Pfeiffer

Nicholas Cage starred alongside Laura Dern in 1990’s “Wild At Heart”, a surreal, dark, romantic comedy crime thriller by David Lynch. Possibly Lynch’s most accessible film for people new to his style and one of my favorites.

PIG

I would certainly recommend Wild at Heart. I love Lynch and, as Nick said, it’s easier for the general public. Good movie!

Ken Veader

Have you seen Pig with Nicolas Cage? Amazing film, I want them to react to that

TBR_Schmitt

Oh that makes sense! For like drying the clothing. Aww, well they made a great team on this one! -Sam

Emily Smith

I love Nic Cage! One of my favs is Gone in 60 Seconds with Angelina Jolie and Christopher Eccelston.

Saw the YT cut earlier today and loved it. I really wanted to see the full lenght, too, but after 30min I gave up, because the old nemesis reared its ugly head yet again: PAL vs. NTSC. So I am asking other European Patrons: How do you solve the sync issues? Is there any other way then stopping for a few seconds every couple of minutes to sync up again?

For more Cage like this, the obvious choices are Face/Off and Con Air. For more of Cage in other modes, I think four of his best movies are Adaptation (although you should see Being John Malkovich first), Bringing Out the Dead (Martin Scorsese), Pig (a recent gem of a performance following a few years slumming it in less-than-great DTV and B-movies to recover from his tax advisor screwing him over), and Moonstruck (one of the best rom-coms of all time).

Great reactions, guys! I'm sure someone else has brought it up, but there is a fan theory (neither confirmed nor denied by the producers) that John Mason is actually James Bond.

Nick of Time

😂 yes, that turned into quite a thread earlier on here. In the first post I provided a link to a great YouTube video covering the topic in detail. If you haven’t seen it already, it’s a pretty entertaining way to spend 15 minutes, even if you’re already familiar with the theory.

Michael G. Munz

"What kind of F***ED UP TOUR IS THIS?!" I forgot how much I love that line.

Birdie Num Num

Nope, Bruckheimer totally shut this down on Reddit - re Mason being Bond - "It was never discussed or even thought about." Google it.

Con Air and Face/Off! Please!

I would add City of Angels; a rare, low-key romance film from Cage. Underrated Meg Ryan film too
