The fifth one is not the greatest of the Die Hards but it flips to his son.

I really enjoy this one. Timothy Olyphant has always been one of my favorite actors. This is the last good Die Hard movie, but I can watch all of them because they are all just good, fun action. My favorite line in this movie is when Justin Long says "Wow! I know that tone, it's just weird hearing it from someone with... hair."

You guys saw Scream 2, right?

Great reaction! Can't believe this movie turned 15 years old last month! This was my introduction to the beautiful and badass Maggie Q. I highly recommend 2021's "The Protege" with Maggie Q, Michael Keaton, and Samuel L. Jackson. She was also the star of a really good series called " Nikita" from 2010-2013. Also a big time recommend.

Another great installment in this classic series I hadn't saw this one in years it was still as awesome as I remember it. You guys gotta check out #5 A Good Day to Die Hard (2013) if you haven't already seen it lol.

The last great Die Hard film, 5 is not a real DH film, its awful

I have not yet managed to watch that movie to the end :) Always drifted off. Managed to watch up to the moment when the helicopter comes.

I read somewhere it was intended to be a 24 film or something. Hence all the spy nonsense with Jai Courtney's character. God, I can't get over how terrible it was. I nearly walked out of the theatre on it. I started to watch it on HBO one time, see if maybe I'd like it more on a rewatch. I got up to the Russian courtroom scene or whatever it was and changed the channel.

Kevin Smith tells a hilarious story about his time on the DH4 set. He originally came on to do a day's worth of work and ended up writing the Warlock scene as well as being there like almost a week. I tried to find a clip of it on YouTube but no joy. IIRC, it was on his special, A Threevening With Kevin Smith.

Tyler Foster

It got taken down. They got hit with a bunch of Paramount copyright claims.

Great reaction and I had fun rewatching this with you. DH4 is kind of underrated but I think it holds up well and captures all the right things a good DH movie should have. It's also pretty good film making on a lot of fronts, recurring themes, exposition done generally well and really fun creative action sequences. On top of that I can also just sum it up as John MacLane dealing with a bunch of novelties which is hilarious :)

Kevin Smith directed the DH4. He was there the whole time, it's just not as an actor. Not sure when he decided to write himself into the script.

Len Wiseman directed DH4. Smith got a bit part because the lady who cast Catch & Release offered him the Warlock part in DG4. He directed Cop Out, which also starred Bruce Willis tho.

Well since you’ve wrapped with the Die Hard series and have now been introduced to Mr. Kevin Smith (Freddy, The Warlock) you’re gonna have to start checking out some of his movies. I suggest starting with either “Clerks” (1994 comedy, Smith’s first film, extremely low budget and completely independent) or “Chasing Amy” (1997 romantic comedy-drama, his third film and a major leap forward in filmmaking; arguably his best film).

Uncle 'Traveling' Matt

Interesting idea. Personally, I'd start with Mallrats (1995) - but the theatrical version only!!! - and then go to Chasing Amy (1997). I think they'd enjoy both of those, for sure.

Before Bruce Willis announced his retirement from acting, I was so hoping for one more "Die Hard" movie: "Die Hardest". I thought it would have been awesome to have Benedict Cumberbatch play Hans Gruber Jr. and one final round with McClain vs Gruber. I had this idea of McClain going to Florida and reuniting with Powell from the first movie and Zeus from the third movie. Things soon go awry with Gruber's kid and Simon's nephew. Sadly, it'll never happen, but that's probably for the best.

WHen did Bruce Willis retire? The man's got 85 new movies coming out every week these days.
