i recommend The Illusionist that came out the same year as this. Fantastic movie that also has similar plot points thats just as good in my opinion.

Because of the holidays I totally missed your schedule post. Im so excited!!! This was like a Christmas surprise!

What a great morning! The tea is ready, Christmas cookies as well. I'm gonna enjoy this one to the fullest :)

Simply put, this film is absolutely brilliant. Its such a bizarre, mind blowing story with so many plot twists. It also touched on many themes such as obsession, sacrifice, and dedication. My jaw was on the floor watching this for the first time. Interstellar will always be my favorite because of its emotion and inspiration, but I think the Prestige might be Nolan's best work.

The old magician on stage at around 14 min mark is Ricky Jay, one of the most famous card tricksters in the world. Check out his show back in the 80s, called "Ricky Jay and his 52 Assistants" - he has a real knack for story-telling as well, it really is worth a watch https://youtu.be/z7InE1zXAY4

Great movie!! You guys kept up for most part. 2 things. Alfreds wife killed herself she wasn't murdered and Fallon was a clone actually Alfred only duplicated once and they shared the prestige. Angier wanted it all himself that's why he killed all the clones. Awesome movie. Watching again you do pick up on all the signs. Loved it!!

Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is preferably the best answer. Great reaction. I was surprise you didn't mention that David Bowie played Tesla.

this movie employs two actors that cut to my 90s tv heart. Daniel Davis and Edward Hibbert. if you know the two shows they guested in then your parents let you watch them before bed. those two dudes give me that visceral feeling that theres school tomorrow.

Slayback

also... "when you saw one set of foot prints", you didn't know you were watching a Chris Nolan movie.

Such a great movie. Thanks for the reaction!

matthew

awesome reaction. speaking of nolan have you watched tenet yet?

Michael SCH

Great reaction - another of my favorite films. If you haven't watched it, Nolan's Memento is yet another of his brain-burner films!

One of those movies that when you watch it a second time, the last plot twist they basically scream in your face the entire film. Its also so sad just how much Edison got in the way of Tesla. America praises Edison regardless of him being a thief and completely unethical.

Would love to see you react to this again for a second time. Not now but some day. This movie unironically even better on second watch.

And also, you can actually pinpoint who is Alfred and who is Freddy in every scene. They have completely different personalities and it's kinda funny how well Bale can act. He acts 2 different characters and you don't even know. Those Sarah scenes hit so much harder on the second watch when you realize one of them actually loved her. About there no being any "good" characters. You actually don't see that there is 3 main characters. Arguably one of the three main characters is actually good (the one that lives). This is easily my favorite movie of all time and most definitely majorly underrated (even though most people think it's great). Speaking of underrated, the most underrated movie in my opinion is "Lucky Number Slevin". It's not "The Prestige", but it's an amazing movie. I would love to see it in a poll one day.

An amazing movie with an amazing reaction, awesome seeing it a second time, I'd recommend to ya guys. There's a few more mind benders of Nolans out there still worth watching......

Such a re-watchable movie this is. I have seen so many times and it never gets old.

The first time I watched it my mom came in and said, isn’t that Christian Bale when she saw Fallon. I was like…😦 well, I guess that’s the movie! But it STILL drew me in and blew me away. Such a great film, glad you both got to watch it.

Couldn’t agree more! “Memento” is definitely a film they’d sink their teeth into and keep guessing all the way to the end.

Paul Schmitt

Another great Nolan film. I was impressed with David Bowie’s acting as Tesla.
