Say what you will about this movie, but in my opinion, it's leagues better than what came afterward. I was fine with this as a next direction when I saw it when it was new, but now that I've seen the alternative, I can definitely say I'd rather have seen a sequel to this.

I haven't see this in ages. But, it was definitely more entertaining than when I remember. I never saw the last one (with the return of Matt Damon) , but I'd be up for a reaction for it just to see it. I never saw it because the reviews were not very kind. But, for me, maybe the long delay in watching and decreased expectations is what I really need to enjoy it.
