I knew you guys would love and appreciate this. I love this reaction so much.... This beautiful, tragic film is about so much more than boxing, it's a love story. It's about redemption, forgiveness, risk-taking, the search for family and God, the pursuit of a dream, a soul-shattering moral dilemma and the father-daughter relationship that develops between Frankie and Maggie. This easily has to be Clint Eastwood's best film he's directed with a stellar cast and great performances by Hillary Swank and Morgan Freeman next to Mystic River! Like someone else here mentioned, you guys should add "Play Misty for Me" Clint Eastwood's directorial debut to the list as well as "Thunderbolt and Lightfoot" which stars Clint Eastwood and Jeff Bridges which they share a great chemistry between them. There's still many great and underrated films directed and or starred by Clint that I hope you guys get to react to. He's just....awesome!! Yes, Hilary Swank killed it and she's also great in "Boys Don't Cry" where she won an Oscar for best actress! She was also in "Insomnia" Directed by Christopher Nolan where she got to work with two great legendary actors, Al Pacino and Robin Williams.

Great reaction to a wonderful but very tough film to watch. I haven’t watched it for several years, but it’s even more powerful than remembered. The commenter above suggested the same two Hilary I would recommend. She doesn’t have a very large catalog of great work, but those two certainly join this one as being among the best. So far as remaining Clint movies, two of the best are also directed by and starring him, and they’re both Westerns. The first is The Outlaw Josey Wales (1976), and second is Pale Rider (1985). I think both of you would love them.
