Short Shorts 08/14/21, Mid-Autumn Festival 2 pages 15-17, August Update (Patreon)

I wanted to do more, but I hit page 18 and put together a somewhat complex composition… and just felt like I needed a break from this one 😅 I sat on that page for like two days before admitting to myself that I wasn’t making progress… so I drew Evelyn instead!

I really like the layout composition for that roadblock page though. I think I’m just a little paralyzed but how complex and layered I made it. Whoops! I will come back to Mid-Autumn Festival 2 later this month, but right now I just want to step away from it for a bit.

I think most of you know by now that I love drawing Evelyn. She resets me and refuels me and fills me with inspiration 🥰 I don’t hit slumps very often, but I can always rely on Evelyn to lift me out of one.

Speaking of, next week I’ll be spending a lot of time with Evelyn, enjoying the animation process as we work on her body assets and animations. If you’re on Discord and if you’re on the Girlfriend+ tiers, you can look forward to a very active week in the R&D channel showcasing my progress and updates. If you’re not on Discord, don’t sweat it - I’ll post in the middle and at the end of the week to look at what we’ve done ^^

Quite honestly, I’m really looking forward to spending a whole week just animating and working in Spine. I always make the most progress and produce my best work when I’m not trying to switch gears between tasks. And I’ve really been looking forward to animating a body for Evelyn to go with her cute animated face. 🥰

There’s still Cinnamon Hearts, more Dungeons & Dragons, and other goodies to look forward to this month - and I will return to Mid-Autumn Festival 2 after a little break.
