From what I've read, this song is a response to fans trying to dictate which style the band should be going for. Not sure if that's true or not, but definitely sounds like it from the lyrics. I enjoy the heavy and softer sides, so it doesn't bother me which way they go, as long as the songs are good...which this one certainly is!
