Howdy!

First of all, Raina's animation render is on frame 11770 out of 12575... So about 93.5% complete.

So with Nadia I have rigged a divider line... Well, let me back up..  The reason why I have been able to "break the size barrier" with Nadia is because I've figured out a way to cheat self-collisions to work.  But with these masses being so large, they have to start out separated.. You can't start the simulation with everything in place because all the forms will be pre-intersecting and it will just become a mess.  So I need to model the arms, legs and torso as different island forms with distance between them..  And then they will merge together over the first 20 frames.

So I have created and fully rigged a divider wall between her torso and arms..  No matter where she rotated her arms or clavicles these walls will shape themselves to be in a fairly natural pose so you should ultimately see a seamless character in the end.

Her "Finite Element Method" model for the arms are fully modeled; including the specialized internal structure for self collisions that I talked about in an earlier post.  The LWBrush plugin I bought a few years ago is really handy for letting me clone and position the collision spheres for setting this up.

Anyway, here is a little clip of the camera moving through her arms, dense with 2-point polygon springs that will make the simulation work.  On to her torso next.

More to come!

Oh, and in case you don't hear from me by the 25th, I want to wish everyone a very happy Christmas, or whatever holiday you prefer.

There will be no Patreon charge (from me) this New Years.

Stay classy!

All these tricks start to become fairly complicated. But the results are here. :D
