Helloooo..

Here's what's happening in the animation so far for those who like behind-the-scenes details.

So the audio is all done and edited together. I asked her to record some changes and I don't know if that will happen. She hasn't responded yet. If she doesn't, the sound will be "good enough" but if she does it will be pretty much perfect.

There are a couple of things I did differently this time with the motion capture. In the audio I have Amy's voice in one channel and me in the other channel counting down events; "Bump..3..2..1..Mark." This way the motion capture turned out perfectly synced to the original audio. Nice.

Another thing I am doing differently is video-recording the motion capture session in addition to the Kinect data. I have the video on screen as I animate and when I scrub through the animation, the video scrubs along with it.

I'm also finding that very little of the Kinect data will remain in the animation after all is said and done. Right now the positional information for the torso is there. Everything else I am re-creating based on the video information. And I *think* the process is moving faster too.  I got most of the torso re-animated today.  The Kinect leaves a lot of guesswork when it doesn't follow exactly or glitches out. Video-on-set is absolutely going to be part of the process from here on out. I may not even use the Kinect any more..  We'll see.  A second video camera from another angle would help with this but I can't afford that.

And finally, this animation will be longer than the last animation. Amy Evolved was around 45 seconds (I believe). This animation will be nearly a minute and ten seconds.

So that's it for now.. I'll ping you when there is more news to share.
