Hey everybody,

After hours of tweaking and optimizing, I have begun rendering on Talia's Showertime.  I've probably begun..  I need to stop it after a few hours and make sure there is no flickering, or at least the flickering is subtle and not distracting.  This new version of Lightwave has many changes with Global Illumination that give more optimization options so we'll see how it goes.  I do believe that if this same animation was rendering in my old version of Lightwave it would be rendering more slowly.  That doesn't mean this is going to render -fast-.  It is a heavy duty scene with glass, water and pecs.

The good news is I will be able to get lots of work done on the next animation while this one renders.  I am going to proceed in good faith that Storm's Point Deformer feature will be ready to go before I am ready to rig.  This would mean the rigging process will be greatly accelerated because Storm can handle most of the joint deformation lifting.  Also Lightwave's new rigging features will help speed things up as well.  I'm quite excited about how much time this will shave off of the process.  This has been such a long time coming!

My girlfriend is part Irish (not a redhead), and I asked her to suggest a few authentic irish names for this ginger gal.  Of her suggestions I like Raina the most.  Wouldn't it be crazy if I could find some local voice talent with an irish accent?  Yeah, not gonna hold out hope for that.  I'll ask though.

I will be posting a paid creation at the end of the 30th.  I know how bad it's getting out there for some of you.  At least, as much as I could possibly know.  And I just want to tell you I appreciate your help.  If you need money for food please do cancel your pledge now.  Priorities, right?  But for everyone else, thank you so much for staying with me in these weird times.  Please send me a private message if you want to make sure you will get what you hope to be getting with your donation after the 1st.  I am pretty good at taking notes and all but I'm around if you want to verify.  And if you get your receipt after the 1st and were expecting something, don't hesitate to send me a message.

Thank you so much everybody!  Provided the world doesn't spiral into a dystopian nightmare land I'm really excited about what I can make in the near future here.

EDIT: Right after posting this I managed to have a chat with a Lightwave developer and he gave me some excellent tips to really take advantage of the new features.  And I am rendering faster now than ever and with better quality!  Whoo hoo!
