While rigging Maria I got some awesome tips by a math genius friend.  I used this new info to develop a new method for rigging her lats.  I won't go into how it works as it is crazy-complex math magic (or as some may call it, linear algebra).

Moving on to Maria's chest, and all of the other girls' chests... They were rigged by what amounts to sliding a rubber sheet over her ribcage.  This sheet is connected to her arm and sternum.  This sliding sheet then deforms her chest skin.  And it works well enough; certainly better than most other examples I've seen out there.

But the problem with Jo is her chest muscles are much thicker than the others.  And the further away her chest skin is from this bit of rubber gliding over the contour of her ribcage, the less desired/accurate results you will get.  The skin of Jo's chest is much further away from her ribcage than the other gals.

So what I am doing for Jo is adapting a similar setup to how I tackled the lats to handle her pecs.  The deformations are no longer an automated deformation from a flat(ish) rubber thing..  Each shape is hand-modeled for all of the key poses that can be made by animating the clavicles and arms.

So far it's working out well, but I have a good number more pose shapes to make.  More to come.
