I added a few more details to Yui's rig today. Well, that was the straw that broke the camel's back. The responsiveness has slowed to a crawl. It's not so bad if I grab her wrist and pull it around. But if I grab her root bone (the bone near the top of the heirchy), it slows down to one update every 2 or 3 seconds. This makes character animation almost impossible. A responsive interface is very important. So I will have to make a stripped-down rig, animate in this version, and save out all of the motions of the various controllers I used to animate her. Then go back to my main rig, import all of the motions I saved into each controller and proceed with the cloth simulations and such. Really crazy! I have -NEVER- made a character this complex. When you see the finished animation (and the next YouTube preview), it will be obvious to you why this is so over-the-top complex. I do it for you all! Because you are so awesome!!!!!
