As of now, the Part 1 of article is completed. I am sorry for the delays and thank you for bearing with me.


Also, while we are at it, I should take the chance to point out that yes, there are some glarring errors in the Osprey depiction of Chinese hoardings – there are no roofs, the arrow loops are blocked, and the size is all wrong. I am sure even without me pointing that out, many observant readers should be able to immediately notice the error since there are no surviving Chinese walls that look remotely like that.

Having said that, despite my penchant of dissing Osprey's artworks, the more recent "Chinese Walled Cities 221 BC– AD 1644" seems like a much better book (I actually scrape through the book for information), so credit where credit's due.
