I went to see this with my mom in theaters. I had low expectations, but I still gave it the benefit of the doubt. I gave it a chance. I went in with an open mind. It's longer than the original, they are bringing it almost to life. Surely they can't get too much wrong............they can......they did........in every sense. If you don't wanna have to read through every thing I think is wrong with this movie, I don't blame you. You don't have to read it. Please note that I will be making many comparisons to the original to point out how much better the aspects of that one is. It will probably take me upwards of 3 and half hours to get through this reaction because I'm doing this. I will be time stamping each of my complaints so, if for some reason I don't give enough context, you know which part I am talking about. At times I will tie one time-stamp to another because they have basically the same complaint. I wanna point out EVERYTHING. Ok, starting now. Before we even begin the actual movie, I must point out "shot for shot" While yes it is mostly "shot for shot," it's much longer than the original. Much slower. More boring. I will rant about this at the end because it will take a while. 2:35 My first though in the theater was "OUT THE GATE!" The lighting is wrong! It has way less impact this way! It started in pitch blackness, then, the voice as the sun rose. It feels weaker when you see the trees already, before the sun rises. Literally the first shot of the movie! I MEAN COME ON!!!!!!!!! 3:31 The voice singing this is really good! I don't wanna bash that! Because there are voices later (That I will pointing out) that don't belong in this movie at all. The problem I have here is "blinking step into the sun. The baby giraffe is meant to be in the shade, possibly from a tree or cloud or something, and blinking, steps into the sun. This might be a nit-pick. But I'm gonna doing a lot of this. I will point out when something that may be classified as a "nit-pick" can't be. In other words. I will explain why it effects the story, plot, or characters. The ones I don't do that for, I know that they are nit-picks. I intend to rip this movie to shreds. 4:34 I would be upset about Rafiki's look here, if I didn't know that a Baboon with that kind of face doesn't really exist. Rafiki, even in the original is a Madrill. So this look I am ok with. 5:11 I do however, have a problem with this! What happened to shaking his staff over Simba? What happened to Rafiki using that iconic fruit? Oh, whatever, doesn't really effect the story anyway. Just feels wrong. 5:43 Their reason for not having Rafiki stand on his hind legs here is absolute b.s. because of something later. Their reason being that Mandrills don't have the ability to stand like that. Well, they do. They don't do it often. And can only do it for short periods. But they do. 6:04 Ok, since I don't wanna ignore all the things in this that are done....fine, I will be pointing out what I, sorta, am ok with. I like that they put more emphasis on the past kings agreeing that Simba is the next king. This ceremony the animals have, is essentially to not only show the kingdom the future king, but also ask approval from the past kings. I like that is more evident here. (Still like the original scene better.) 6:16 AAaaannd, right back to wrong. The animals should have bowed on their forelegs' knees. I know that is not something giraffes can do very easily. So, they shold have spread their front feet to lower their heads as much as possible. Like they do to drink water. The zebras? No excuse. Elephants? They actually have the ability to bow on one foreleg's knee. I think it would have illustrated the animal's respect a lot better. Might just be me. 6:46 Way too much time spent on this mouse.... I was a full minute from the moment the mouse appeared on the screen to when Scar confronted the mouse. Like, bruh! I did not wanna watch a mouse do basically nothing for a full minute! In the original the mouse came out of a gap in the rocks scampered for a moment and WHAM! A much better introduction to the villain of the story than this! Trying to get us invested in a mouse? WHY!?! It will not be the last time they do something stupid like this! 7:00 I am not a fan of Scar's voice really. It doesn't fit. He's trying too hard to sound evil. Does anyone else get that feeling? And this isn't a nit-pick because it directly reflects how you perceive the characters. Voices are extremely important in animated/CGI movies. (Important in every movie, but more so in those) More on Scar's voice later. 8:14 Must I even say anything about Zazu? I hate what they did with him! 8:43 You've seen one of the most major flaws a lot sooner than I expected. The animals in this can't move their faces. The result is that you have to rely way too heavily on the voices to carry the emotions. 9:50 I hate this line "I wouldn't dream of challenging you .....again." I get they had to change some lines, but this one seems like too much of a change. You can't have a "shot for shot" remake if you're gonna add more story elements. This one is not that bad compared to ones coming up. 10:00 (tie-in to 7:00) I must take a second to further criticize Scar's voice. Chiwetel Ejiofor wanted him to be more "psychologically possessed" But that's not Scar. Scar is manipulative. His voice has an almost musical tone to it. Not ..... whatever this is. Won't be the last time I bring up Scar's voice. 10:19 Also, Scar said "long live the king" way too soon here. I don't like that. 10:38 (Tie-in to 8:14) Zazu here is absolutely annoying. Out of character too. They make him out to be stupid. He's not. In the original he was a voice of reason to Simba before Simba was tricked into leaving. 11:30 I don't know why they felt the need to elongate this scene! It makes no sense to me. Maybe to show Rafiki is one with nature? idk. 11:52 This might be a nit-pick, I'm not sure. No it isn't because this is the picture of Simba Rfiki keeps going back to multiple times throughout. Not a Nit-pick. It really should be a picture of a full lion cub. 12:00 "Simba" Doesn't hit the same as the original. I know, nit-pick. 12:12 (Tie-in to 5:43) "Mandrills can't stand on hind legs", huh? It wouldn't bug me so much if they hadn't said "Mandrills can't stand on their hind legs" as an excuse for Rafiki to not stand on his legs at the presentation of Simba. 12:48 Cute kid's voice. No emotion when it counts. I will be referencing this fact a lot. 15:33 So let me get this straight. Instead of watching Simba try to pounce and fail. Then Mufasa stepping in to show him how it's done. We get to focus on Zazu for a little longer than the original and he says "2 giraffes were caught necking"? Brilliant decision filmmakers. really good. (sarcasm) Made more sense in the original. Made more since to have Simba try something and his dad, noticing him struggling, help him. But in this, Mufasa's just like "Oh hey Zazu. morning report please. Simba wanna have some fun?" What the heck is that? Btw, when male giraffes fight they use their long necks as weapons. They hit each other with their necks until one gives up. Usually it's over a girl or territory for food or something. 15:51 (tie-in 10:38) And again they couldn't help making Zazu look stupid. Instead of him pausing his report to ask what's going on, they have him droning on like he didn't realize anything was amiss. 16:15 So, Zazu flies off for 5 seconds. That's long enough for him to notice hyenas in The Pride-lands? No. Makes more sense in the original. A gopher pops out of the ground to deliver the news to Mufasa. They could have had a zebra or something deliver the news. That would make more sense. Since Gophers can't really dig upwards that fast. But no. 17:15 Of course, another little creature we're gonna follow. This time. It's gonna lead Simba right to Scar. Plot convenience. Would have been better to just have Simba go tell Scar about his exciting look on the kingdom. Oh wait, that's what they did in the original. Showing more in between stuff isn't always better. 18:14 (tie-in to 12:48) I can't tell if it's the writing or the voice actor that's in the wrong here. This line is just so dumb to me. And the delivery is lacking. Emotionless. I know it's a kid voicing him, but that didn't stop the Simba in the original from sounding convincing. And there are plenty of kid voice actors who know how to put emotion into their lines nowadays. (Again not the last time I will be bringing this up.) 18:50 AND AGAIN HERE! WHAT IS THAT "whoa?" Like, it's so unenthusiastic, it's almost sarcastic. 18:53 (tie-in to 10:00) And then Scar's next line delivery doesn't feel right, either. "I've said too much." Like, the actor was trying to sound manipulative about it. But that's just it. Trying to sound manipulative, and actually sounding manipulative are 2 very different things. And this was trying to sound manipulative. 21:01 (tie-in to 15:51) *SIIIIGHHH* Zazu isn't dumb! I really hate when they make a character that was used for comedic effect is made to look dumb in sequels, prequels and remakes. It's not a good look on the writers. 22:08 Vocal showcase begins. I can feel the auto-tune at times. Especially in the kids. It's so bad. I miss when voices in musical movies were pure and full of emotion in songs. 22:40 Another problem with this not being animated is how similar Simba and Nala look. My first time seeing this I couldn't tell which cub was which. To the point that I thought Nala's voice was coming out of Simba for a second. And vice versa. While sitting in the theater. 22:55 (tie-in to 22:08) Point illustrated. 23:08 (tie-in to 22:40) It was here I believe. That I thought Nala's voice was coming out of Simba. 24:43 (tie-in to 22:08) Vocal showcase. And very clearly auto-tuned. 25:00 All-in-all this song lost a lot in translation from animation to CGI. They wanted everything to look somewhat realistic, so they couldn't change the colors or have the animals do a crazy stack. That's the whole problem with a lot of scenes that lose something. 25:02 I don't mind Zazu getting swept away by birds. Makes more sense than a rhino sitting on him and him somehow surviving. 25:48 Up til this point in the movie on my first watching I actually really liked Nala's voice. This line "Pinned ya 'gain" is so iconic to me that when she said it like "pinned ya...again!" It checked me out for a hot second. I don't know if it was the actress' choice or the director's or what but I don't like that they kept the line the same but changed how she said it. Some iconic lines either should be re-written in remakes, or taken out completely. And seeing how Nala pinning Simba ties into the story, they can't take out that line. So just re-write it. Not have her say the same line, just different. This really hits me as you can see. That being said, I do like Young Nala's voice. One of my favorite voices of this remakes. 27:17 Where to begin with this scene? Welp, one bit at a time. I'll keep this one brief. Where's the elephant skull? 27:45 I do not like what they've done to the hyenas one bit. There will be a lot for me to say. Let's start with the fact that during this encounter there are many hyenas. Probably the whole pack. I hate this. Somehow, they made this less intimidating but added more threat. The original managed to make 3 hyenas look more intimidating than a whole pack of hyenas. That's how bad they messed this up. 28:07 Where to begin with Azizi and Kamari? First of all, Ed is now named Azizi. And Banzai is now named Kamari. I believe it is Kamari that talks first here. and Ed is the one that interrupts him. I will fact check that. What I wanna focus on for the moment is the name changes and obvious character changes to these two. Ed is no longer the goofy one that is mostly non-verbal. Instead he and Banzai seem to get on each others nerves. Banzai isn't at all like he was in the original. At least with the other characters so far, their traits haven't been altered too badly. But these two alone equal to more changes than there has been thus far in the movie. I hate the name changes and I hate the character changes. But the worst of the hyena character changes is next. 28:33 I have SO MANY PROBLEMS WITH SHENZI! They changed literally everything about her. Instead of being a rough and tumble strong independent one of the guys type girl. She's made out to be a smooth-talking, stuck up, almost elegant leader of the hyenas. I don't know if I am the only one who remembers but Scar was basically the leader of the hyenas in the original. Making a change this huge on the hyenas will have a cascading effect on the rest of the story. When I realized this sitting in the theater, I wasn't scared of what would happen to Simba. I knew what would happen. I wasn't afraid of Shenzi. Which is clearly the effect they wanted. No, I was scared what they were going to do about the most iconic Disney villain song of all time. I will get to that. 30:27 This is not a good shot. Who directed this shot!?! It's supposed to be an epic moment where his dad leaps into action to save them. Instead it's ......almost a comedic shot. idk what else to call it. It's like they tried to make it epic but failed so epicly and didn't realize it that it's humorous rather than epic. No specific time-stamp for this but I just realized that Simba didn't get to scratch Shenzi on the cheek. That's sad. 32:39 I don't know why but even this doesn't have the same impact. I literally can't explain it. 36:10 (tie-in to 28:33) I didn't catch on to the fact that Scar wasn't in with the hyenas yet at this part. I sat there listening to this dialogue extremely confused. 36:46 This is the point that it started to click. That was trying to recruit them. But if they hadn't been trying to make Shenzi elegant and strong (I have a lot to say on that subject), if they hadn't made her the hyena's leader, then, that whole build to this wouldn't be necessary. 37:09 This mildly upset lecture (song) would've made more sense. It could've actually been a song. They almost cut this song out completely I learned. Sitting there in the theater, it took me about 20 seconds or so to realize that this is what they've done to the most iconic villain song of all time. I almost would've rathered they would have cut the song out entirely rather than butcher it like this. 38:41 One of, if not the most, ill, butchered, disrespectful adaptations of a villain song ever in a remake. I couldn't believe it ended this way. 41:09 The zoom didn't happen. The zoom on Simba's face that encased his terror. It would've helped at least a little bit in portraying Simba's fear here. But instead, we can't see fear, even in his eyes. 45:09 Simba's "no" here is just humorous to me now. It looks like a kitten meowing at the refrigerator. Not a cub who just saw his father fall. But what do I know? 46:03 Why such a long distance shot for so long? Were they afraid they couldn't get the right emotion on Simba's face? It's almost like doing this movie was a TERRIBLE idea! 47:17 (tie-in to18:14) Remember when I said sometimes not the right emotions can be heard in Simba's voice? This is one of those times. It feels like they just told the actor to sound sad, when that wasn't good enough they told him again, but this time pitch your voice up. It sounds like a kid trying to sad to manipulate their parents into giving them a second cookie for dessert. 49:42 And no "IF YOU EVER COME BACK, WE'LL KILL YA!" Another iconic line that was slain for the making of this poo pile (literally) of a film. 51:07 (tie-in to 21:01) "I only wish I had gotten to the gorge in time..." Zazu? Where are you? You saw Mufasa and Scar get to the gorge at the same time. Why are you not calling him out on this? Oh wait. I forgot. The writers wrote you stupid! So stupid that you can't call him out on this inconsistency in his story because you're too stupid. The original didn't have this problem, because this line wasn't in the original. And Zazu got knocked out by Scar before he could go get the pride. I am so glad you caught this, too, Tim. 52:17 (tie-in to 51:07) Ah, there's Zazu. He didn't hear the line. I see...... But still, Zazu has to think it odd that Scar Mufasa and Simba were at the gorge during a stampede and only Scar returned. They really wrote Zazu to be stupid. But they also wrote him stupidly. 55:02 They actually save him in the original. There is no visible water hole around in the original. Here Simba is passed out. He wakes up why, now? No explanation. Got it. You couldn't have had Pumbaa carry him to that oasis over there? Simba woke up, so he couldn't have walked the little extra way to get to the oasis that is clearly visible in the background? No? Instead we are gonna focus on having Timon and Pumbaa make as many jokes as possible. Jesus Christ! Also Pumbaa has to be the ugliest design in this whole movie. and Timon's voice is pretty spot on, but you can tell it's not Timon's voice, you know. They also made Timon a little less agreeable which I don't like. 58:10 This is when I lost all hope for this movie, believe it or not. You can't change THE JOKE in the song "Hakuna Matata" I'm sorry. No way will I ever sing or listen to this version of the song when I want to listen to "Hakuna Matata." Absolutely horrendous that they had the gall the change that iconic joke in that song. 1:00:16 HOW DID THEY MESS UP THE LOG GROWTH SCENE?!?! He's supposed to walk across the log and time passes while he's still on the log! How hard is that??!?!? They definitely could've pulled it off without having to switch locations. 1:00:26 (Tie-in to 24:43) I swear the vocal showcases with a side of auto-tune only get worse from here. The thing that is most notable over all the older films with songs in them, is how the voices sound. They sound so heartfelt, and pure. Not like this. Adding in a run where it would've sounded better without it. Auto-tuning those same runs because the singer can't pull it off. It sucks the emotion out of the performance. 1:02:52 This little look between Nala (Yes, that's Nala) and Shenzi is meant be them telling us that Nala and Shenzi have beef. I thought this was weird and it has the weirdest pay-off and literally no explanation. Also Sarabi was the one to tell Scar they should leave Pride-rock. Now she is saying they must defend it. 1:04:24 This line has got to be the weirdest thing they could have had Scar say. I don't know where they pulled this from, but I've never heard this part of the story. I need to look deeper into it, but I have the feeling that they were trying to give Scar motivation for what he did. But he already had the motivation. He was next in line until Simba was born. He wanted to be king so he killed Mufasa and got rid of Simba. What is this extra motivation you are trying to give Scar? 1:05:38 Noone could tell in the theaters because they look too similar and it's a major problem with re-making The Lion King with CGI, but this is Nala. They, for some reason wanted to explain how and why Nala left Priderock. Her reason was because of that conversation a couple minutes ago. Before Sarabi's conversation with Scar. 1:10:04 I do not like that they are making Timon and Pumbaa out to be this way. "Life is a line" and "life is meaningless" I mean, come on. The real ("real" being the ones from the animation) Timon and Pumbaa would never say that. 1:13:05 So, instead of Simba laying on plants which drop their pollen and seeds for Rafiki to find, we have a single tuft of Simba's mane hair. I wonder how they will show this to end up at Rafiki's tree. Surely the wind won't carry it that far. 1:14:16 (tie-in to 49:42) It's been a minute since this tuft started this journey and when this happened I was speechless. All I could do was watch and hope this scene would end soon. I lost all hope for the rest of the film at this point. Whatever hope I had was dashed out. An actual ball of poop? They included an actual ball of poop. It's like they knew this adaptation was bad so they just went "WHATEVER." 1:15:53 (tie-in to 1:13:05) A full 2 minutes and 50 seconds of this movie. From the moment the hair leaves Simba, to the moment that Rafiki says "Simba" is 2 minutes and 50 seconds. We follow the tuft of hair. I don't know if they thought this was gonna be funny. Maybe they wanted to come up with a better explanation for how Simba's being alive could reach Rafiki. I was really satisfied with how they did it in the original. If they had kept with plant seeds they could've floated on the wind. But no.....hair.....it had to be hair...... 1:16:08 (tie-in to 12:12) Again. He stands upright! Like, ok. So he can stand at the presentation of Simba, right? No? Great! 1:16:35 I actually really enjoyed this version of this song. My only complaint is getting jump-scared! And that that bop wasn't longer! Ha ha! 1:18:49 No freaking way she recognized him that fast! I'm sorry but it was more realistic in the original for her to back away in a surprise and say "Who are you?" 1:19:34 This dialogue from Nala doesn't really make sense either. She would be realizing the way out of the mess they are in. She would sound confused but also excited. Not concerned and serious like she is here. 1:20:57 (tie-in to 22:08) The vocal showcase is real with this one. So, normally with musical movies, you have the voice actors sing in character for those songs. Then have the more, best way to put it is, pop-starified versions of the songs in the credits. You don't put the emotionless, auto-tuned, just there to show off songs in the actual movie! Like, what's wrong with them? 1:22:13 (tie-in to 1:20:57) Now it's just getting ridiculous! Who sang for Nala here? NO FFING WONDER!!!!!!!!!!! THEY HAD BEYONCE!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!! As a speaking voice she sounds like Nala! But she is literally a singer. You can't ask a singer like that to give an emotional singing performance. I know that sounds weird. Let me try to explain. Someone is taught to fly a plane. He knows the ins and outs of the cockpit. You wouldn't ask him to build the plane, would you? Beyonce is good at sounding good, she is not good at giving an emotional performance while she sounds good singing. Most people who are good at singing and become singers as a profession aren't. I hope I'm explaining this correctly. For good measure, let me put it one other way. If the more popstarified version of a song that was in the credits of a movie (any movie) was swapped with the emotional performance that was in the movie, would it have the same effect? No it wouldn't. Essentially what they've done is popstarify all the songs and the characters suffer for it. Not that they weren't brutalized before. Hope I got that point across. 1:25:19 Yeah. Remember the thing with the staff hitting him? This movie doesn't! 1:25:36 Firstly, there's no "Asante sana squash banana a wele nulu mele hapana" 1:26:11 This delivery is weird. The way the "you do" sort of drops off. Kinda like the voice actor wasn't sure that it was even part of the line. 1:26:15 Now the big one about this scene. NO STAFF WHACK! No lesson about the past. No learning from it. nothing! WTH!!!!!!!! WHO WROTE THIS?!??!??! That is such a good moment between Rafiki and Simba! How can this version be so much longer but you keep shortening or plain out removing dialogue and scenes that are so integral to the story?!? 1:28:22 They couldn't have made the outline of Mufasa any more faded. I know where he is in the clouds and even I had trouble spotting him. In the theater I was straining to see him. I didn't see in that viewing. I had to wait for it come out on Disney plus. 1:29:08 (tie-in to 1:28:22) Exactly my point. One of the moment iconic and impactful scenes of the movie and they screw it up. It was so easy to not screw up. Sure it would take a lot of work and I'm sure that that bit did take a lot of work. What I'm saying is that there was so many ways that they could have done that and they chose one of if not the least impactful ways to do it! I hate it! At least they got the "Remember who you are? Remember." 1:29:50 I kinda wish that he didn't roar here. It kinda makes him roaring on Pride Rock less impactful! SEE WHAT I MEAN? SO MANY BAD DECISIONS! Splitting this in two.

Squeebers

1:30:11 (tie-in to 22:08) DON'T GET ME STARTED! I WILL KEEP THIS AS BRIEF AS I CAN! The song "Under the stars" is so iconic to this scene! and they replace it with yet another pop song!?!?!??! I just don't understand! I can't...... What's this song even called? I wanna burn it! My main complaint is the vocal showcasing! I hate that such an iconic chorus is not in this movie. "Busa le lizwe bo" Is the main chorus. It translates to "rule this land." More of the chorus is " Busa ngo thondo bo Busa ngo xolo." Which translates to "Rule with love Rule with Peace"It makes so much more sense to have playing over this scene than someone showing their vocal range in the word "Spirit". OMG! THAT'S THE ACTUAL NAME OF THE SONG! I HATE IT! HOW DOES "Spiriiiiiiiit watch the heavens oooppenn" make more sense than "Busa le lizwe bo"(Rule this land) to put over this scene. He's literally running back to "rule his land." I have to stop. This pisses me off! 1:33:58 I swear to mother ffing God! I was so excited to see the adaptation of "Luau" Instead they did this! I have words. Ok, first of all, changing yet another of Timon and Pumbaa's iconic jokes is bad enough. But changing it to another Disney song is so weird. They've done this before in other Disney movies. But at least in those it made at least a little sense as to why those characters even would have knowledge of said song or reference. The most easy to point out is Toy Story Andy, his mom and Molly are in the car near the end of the film and you can clearly hear "Hakuna Matata" playing from the cars speaker. That is believable because they are humans. Humans who are meant to be in the real world, so to speak. Here, having them even reference anything from Beauty and the Beast is weird. These are animals in Africa. By looks of it humans don't tour there, or live near there. How in the world can Timon know about "Be Our Guest?" He can't. It makes no sense. It's only funny the first time, whereas "Luau" is great every time. They shorten one thing so they could elongate the poop scene! Ok, I'll stop with this one. But stuff like this remakes and sequels pisses me off! 1:34:46 tie-in to1:28:22)So, is the reason the "staff exchange" as I call it, didn't happen because his staff was stuck in a rock? Wow, sure would've been nice to see it get put there, and why instead of following a tuft of hair go through a giraffe's digestive system! 1:38:39 I appreciate they tried to make it logical that they believed Scar killed Mufasa, but that was not a problem with the original because they didn't have Zazu see what he saw in the original. 1:39:19 (tie-in to 1:38:39) I really think they were trying to do something here. But Simba forcing it out of Scar makes way more sense. They are just trying to make Nala look like a strong, smart, independent woman. Nothing wrong with that, excepting when you remake a classic and take a moment away from an equally strong, smart, independent male character and give it to the woman. It feels like a violation. Not to mention, they were getting a report from Zazu whenever he could come around, Why didn't he make sure they knew that Scar got there the same time Mufasa did? The holes add up and up and are evident in this scene. 1:40:48 (tie-in to 1:02:52) This is the weird, no explanation given, yet they still took time to do it, pay-off to the worst side story in history moment. Again, trying to give Nala her moment. Well, guess what, this story is not about Nala, has never been about Nala, and will never be about Nala. Taking away from Simba and Rafiki's moment and other important momen ts to do stuff like this, is shameful in my opinion. If you want Nala to be seen as a strong character, maybe try making a movie about her. Where she is the main character. Don't try to do it by giving her a weak side story with a weak pay-off that doesn't even make sense or was ever built up to. 1:41:39 (Tie-in to 5:11) At least Rafiki got to do this! I still don't get why the "staff interaction" was cut. But at least they didn't take this from him! Oh, wait.... they have him on his hind legs a lot to do this fighting. "Mandrills can't stand on their hind legs" for long remember. And if the argument that they can't do it while holding something heavy, that gets thrown out here, too. His staff is pretty heavy and with those things on the end, I'd imagine it's weight is a little less than a lion cub. But still. 1:44:33 During this fight it's sometimes hard to tell who is who. But when it matters they made sure you knew. 1:46:17 The shadow on the rocks wasn't as good and defined but, what can you do? 1:48:11 (tie-in to 1:29:50) In the original I always thought that this "remember" was meant to motivate him to roar. Because he left Pride Rock before he learned to roar. And he had no reason to roar while living with Timon and Pumbaa. So, he had to dig deep to roar. This would essentially have been his first real roar. You know, if it hadn't been for the 2 earlier that were there in place of Rafiki hitting him with his staff. I hate this remake! Can you tell? 1:48:26 (tie-in to 1:30:11) Ok, at least "Busa le lizwe bo" is in the movie. It would have been better to have it over him running home, as well as here, but I'll take it. See, I told you it would be a novel. Ending thoughts: Obviously the original is way better. for any of these remakes Disney has been doing the last few years that's the case. The Jungle Book, Cinderella, 101 Dalmations back in the 2010s, etc. But this was an utter disappointment on so many levels for me, it's not even funny. Young Simba's actor had no emotion in his voice to the point where I recognized the trick I heard instructors tell kids in our local theater to use to sound like they are crying. Auto-tune ran rampant. Iconic jokes from Timon and Pumbaa were changed when they shouldn't have been. They connected this to Beauty and the Beast which makes 0 sense and it's not even funny enough to justify doing it. Beyonce is a talented singer but her popstarry performances were not in Nala's character. Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed were character assassinated. And to make matters worse, we had an almost 3 minutes hair following scene that almost a minute of was following a poop ball. An utter disgrace. I will never watch this movie again. And I intend to make a video elaborating on all these things I pointed out. If you got this far into my comment(s), ty. Hopefully I pointed something out that you didn't notice before. Hopefully if you liked this movie more than the original, somehow, I changed your mind. ~Emily Also, this took me upwards of 5 hours to type out and research stuff on. When I said something not based in opinion I wanted it to be accurate.

The animals have more clear expressions in The Jungle Book remake. Not like in cartoons, but a nice middle ground: more subdued, but you can tell there's higher intelligence and emotions there and they can smile and stuff. In this more recently made movie, it was a decision to make them emote less because "it has to look like a nature documentary."

You should watch the jungle book remake.its my favorite Disney live action remake. And you can see the emotion on the animals in this movie xD another live action remake worth checking out would be cruella or maleficent, both are absolutly fantastic
