Here's the other new mech from the Somerset Strikers pack, the Mauler.

This one I WAS excited to work on. My nostalgia for it is it's the first assault mech you acquire in MW4 Vengeance (if I recall right) so I drove it a fair bit with all my playthroughs. Always found it to be one of those "good ugly" mechs with a fun balance of weapon types. Of course that balance doesn't translate to "good" on the tabletop, so I look forward to what comes of it in the ilClan era.

I'd usually ask who is, but who wont be running this one? :D

Was never a fan, I like the redesign but still not my 1st, 2nd 3rd or 6th choice for an Assault I'd want to run (beyond the fact I don't like Assault mechs in the first place). But hey, I have Draconis Combine forces, so I'll get it and paint it up.

Great mech, now we just need a wolf trap and you will have all the Drac mechs from 3050!

Most of the new designs lately seem to be heavy and assault, such as Gunslinger, Frankenmech, Spartan, Sagittaire, Penetrator, Regent, Annihilator. There have been no new light mech redesigns recently and 3 Mediums - Wraith, Pouncer, Nightsky. Will lights and mediums be getting any love soon?

"good ugly" mechs... That sounds like fun... Thanks for another new mech. Looks great. This is one of the best "good ugly" mechs I've seen.

Wasn’t this ‘Mech originally designed to be able to be produced as a toy in support of the cartoon series along with the Bushwhacker?

Despite all the well deserved hate it gets, the most fun I've had playing tabletop was piloting a Mauler. Redesign looks great; nice to see the pot belly gone.

I want to say they did, if memory serves me it had the ejection button on the chest which was the bases for the write up in 3039.

Loved this bad boy. People poo poo the ac/2’s, but I appreciated having a stand off mech

While I like it in general, I find the leg/hip assembly a bit small for the massive torso/arm section. Definitely looking forward to sculpt stage.

I think it's order of production you've been hit by. This KS delivers a ton of mediums and a decent bit of lights too. Lately it's been looking heavy due to the merc lance packs which are command mechs, and as such going to ton up. Rough distribution across all mechs is 50/60/70/60 right now, which isn't too bad, especially because lights are the most likely to be run as duplicates. We've also got a ton of duplicate heavy mechs such as the archer, rifleman, timberwolf, and warhammer.

Yes it was part of the Somerset Strikers and they made a toy of it. That pack is a 8Mil Stretch Goals. If it doesn't make it i am sure we will see it in a year or so in Retail Released.

Genious move on those Somerset Strikers, Anthony! I hope we make 8. I'd love more of that Enhance Imaging Wireframe artwork plz :D. Right in the nostalgic feels!

All right ! Happy to finally see the Mauler make an appearance. Have been viewing the interviews and AMAs ; lots of snippets and tidbits regarding what we might see in the future. And with Eldon now on board, I hope his excellent Ursus II makes it to plastic one day..

My problem is that the Mauler runs an XL engine meaning it's a time bomb waiting to go off. Beyond that I actually like the mech.

Darn right I am going to be running this one! Say no more.

I love the Mauler's look so much, but always struggled with the AC2s as a loadout, but it was such a memorable visual for me when I started playing that I can forgive it all. (Probably due to the Strikers too n and sourcebook) Great to see it brought up to date like this!
