Lets start things off with a classic, the Galleon.
As I reveal more of the starting vehicle selection you're going to find it a little of an oddball mix, but as much as I'd also prefer an opening purely of popular and common combat vees, we've got a few avenues to explore.

The Galleon falls into one avenue of "unseen vees", so while this isn't a hot lethal ride, there are the nostalgic in command that believe their fellow nostalgic fans would like this cute little tank in their modern collection.

Redesign is by Bishop, as many of you will recognize his style. With the few digital lines giving away my meddling handiwork.
The laser turret grows bigger in the final 3D model. There have already been a few comments about comically sized guns on tanks past, but I tell you once you get into accurate tank scaling you'll find that a medium laser is a very large weapon as depicted on or mechs. Just wait until you see our autocannon wielding vees.

I was looking at the old Loose illustration and realized I'd never noticed that he cribbed the front-end lines from an old 80s Pontiac TransAm.

I'm in the camp of never using this because the current mini is god-awful. Once this is released, and in plastic, I could see fielding this all the time. Fantastic redesign!

Lovely! It’s not all about firepower. Some of the best fights are with modestly armed mechs and tanks. I’m hoping the new kickstarter will address the dearth of low weight mediums available to the IS.

So how big are these things? It sounds like the new vehicles are larger than modern tanks but not as big as some earlier depictions?

ShimmeringSword

A small touch larger than modern, but some of that is accounting for large track spaces, high crew counts, foam ablative armor, and sometimes lore about large internal crew spaces. I used a Stryker, Abrams, and Paladin models scaled to their IRL measurements to help get things close. This also helped confirm that our mech sizing is pretty spot on already aside from curving up the volume on assaults.

KaiserDunk

I like how the laser mount resembles the Stryker’s remotely operated machine gun.

Just had one of my old unseen Galleons die in a horrific glue/activator accident. Was about to despair, and then I saw this. Can't wait for the kickstarter! Hope we get some VTOLs along with the ground guys!

t'was the plan. as we get further down the road and more open in reveals, I may do a post on my page of the iterations because that is pretty much exactly how the Laser started, it just had to be kind of dumbed down on geometry for casting purposes.

Okay, first off it looks great! What if the gun on top had a look more in line of say a Highlanders head, with the gun to one side and sensors on the other. Just an alternative thought. Then the weapon would look armored and protected.

Another great one! Bishop and your work is another to be excited about!

Nice gun on that Galleon turret!

I figure it goes without saying that Bulldog, Patton/Rommel, LRM and SRM Carriers, and Schreck are forthcoming....

I don't suppose the Paramour is going to be one of the vees we get.... that one was never really all that popular, and that's unfortunate, because it was always one of my favorites.

ShimmeringSword

There are quite a few popular combat vees, so you'll find a few missing that you might expect. CAn't cover them all at once.

This was one of the first vehicles I own, but the minature for it was so small, micro armor small. I would like to see it in 3d next to a wasp or stinger.

still confuses me as a design. As an APC it sorta makes sense. AS a "tank"? not so much?

I agree. This little guy has a serious M113 vibe going on, but it still looks good. But I really want to see the Chevelier light tank at some point.
