Here's a cute little mech designed by Marco Mazzoni, the Locust IIC.

Good ol mix of VMI, nuseen Locust, aaaaand pretty much none of the phoenix abomination haha.

So many lasers.

Gonna be honest, I prefer the SLs have more protruding barrels and be lined up. At first glance, they look like missile packs.

Loving this design, but I agree those look like missile racks.

I think I'd like it more with a larger torso... dunno, it looks odd to me. Massive hips and then a head that doesn't look like it could fit a human pilot, assuming the IIC isn't much larger than a Locust. I also can't see the laser pods as anything but missile packs. The shapes themselves all work for me, though. I like them.

A fair opinion. Marco and I just wanted to be faithful to the original. Plenty of mechs with flush lasers. An added bonus is it allows us to make variants that do use missiles without changing the model. The Rec Guides do this as much as possible.

I checked and we can just barely squeeze a pilot in there lol. This isn't the first mech to push that boundary though. Sometimes I forget to enforce a good pilot fit, other times I don't care about it too much :P

I dunno if I'd say there was *none* of the Project Phoenix one in here... that's also one of the few Phoenix Reseens that I think actually looks quite good, but this one is certainly *better*. I like it a lot!

I mean, I liked that Phoenix Abomination, but I will reserve it for the ultra high speed variants. all of that said, I was worried how this one would turn out. it is quite good. it looks like it would be noticably taller then the SLDF Classic, though the dorsal laser might be the culprit there. either way a good thing.

I like it! I think the legs are just the right level of "not as flimsy looking as the VMI version", but still "thin enough to look like a Locust". I will admit that I also like Matt Plog's rendering of the Phoenix IIC-7.

Looks great! It does look like a good blend between VMI and CGL styles. I wouldn’t go so far as to say the Phoenix version was horrible, at least from a miniatures standpoint, but this is a colossal improvement nonetheless. I’ll need a star of these for my Wolf PGC
