Ok first up on the requested renders list, the Spider!

I think this is a good one to show off because more than usual critique landed, questioning if this really looked/felt "spider enough".
Of course I'm biased. I redesigned most of this one many years ago, and refreshed it again for the kickstarter. What I consider cuttable details, and how I interpret others, wont line up with everyone's preferences.
That said, I think this is one of those minis (much like the blackjack and centurion) that look various levels of questionable in 3D, but look great physical.

So, while I don't think I really have full authority to post our first stage prototypes here, I think a little back shot can sneak in. This mech's entire rear is dedicated to flight and super dashes. I also think the fins make fairly good sense this time around, even if I couldn't get as fancy with the articulation of things as I'd prefer due to production needs.

For the pose, if you want ultra speed looks you'll need to de-base the mech and do a little leg bend/chopping. It's our tallest and leggiest light mech and couldn't get into a faster run pose without going off the base.

What do ya think?
And please especially keep that prototype shot unshared, though you have all done very good about not leaking content over the last year.
Is my boss Brent going to pop in and slap my wrist?

Also, from a modelers side, i really really like the wristmounts for a 5K conversion. I have a set of unused Wasp-MGs that will fit nicely. (i also have the flamers, but i cant stand the 5D so... no flamers for you spidy)

Nyxus

I love it it looks built for speed and the "mandables" are a nice touch

I never liked the original look of the Spider. Your's its a definite improvement.

Who will be the first to paint theirs like Spider Man?

The back area definitely lends itself to the feeling of speed. I love it!

Still a fan of the DA version, but this looks nice and fits in with his speedy brother, the ostscout.

Can we get something similar for the Trebuchet and Enforcer?

James Abbot-Cole

Saw someone moaning about htis being too chunky, to be honest several of the light mechs did until the models came out and were compared to the bigger classes. Then they look tiny and delicate.

I'm probably not the most important opinion, because I typically don't field many spiders, but this definitely feels way better than the old sculpt to me. Honestly, I never ever noticed the old chest pattern was in a spider-web until I heard people complain about it. The fins/limbs definitely upped the spider feel more for me.

This has been tickling at the back of my brain for a while, and I finally figured ou why.... all those large jump jet nozzles on the back... put rollerskates on this, and it would look like something Wile E Coyote would wear to chase after the Roadrunner. 😁 (Not sayin' that's a bad thing, just what it reminds me of.)
