Saw some comments comparing the Nova and Storm Crow, so here are some Crow renders to check out. Are the two similar when both have a pelvis? In a way yes, though stats wise not much separates them either :D

This was Alan Blackwell's second sculpt after the Nova, and came together faster, cleaner, and more accurately to the art, reducing how nitpicky I had to be.

It's not fully modeled in a workable way, but I intend for the outer gun pods to possibly gimbal on the lower elbow joint (the bigger one just above it is the true elbow). Could allow it to be a little more handy with those fists.

That's a good looking mech right there

Steven Cross

A VAST improvement on the hand front, always hated the tiny lil hands of the Stormcrow.

For the most part I do like the mech, however I've often preferred the under sling arm pods that speak more to the original artwork. Everything else looks great!

More massive, as the Nova. I definetely like the new Clanners as they are not that fragile looking as in the past. And I have to agree on a former comment - finally the hands are looking good and not tiny.

To be honest, at first I thought you had mistakenly uploaded the Nova and not the Stormcrow picture. I guess it looks more hunched over and thicker than the original Stormcrow. Its massive fists and arms (relative to the TRO art) also make it much more alike to the Nova. I would suggest making it stand a bit more upright, and then smaller, slender arms - but amazing overall work of course, Anthony!

I'm still not sold on this. One of the very defining traits of the Storm Crow to me was the more slender arms, which the meaty fists and shoulders just totally throw out the window.

I like the torso a lot but the arms feel too...thick? I'm not sure.

As a couple of you mention it...it resembles more the Ryoken II than the Omni from the TROs. Anyway...like it more than the old sculpt.

I agree with Steven Cross and Henning Boessier. The hands on these updates are actually functional and they don't look so spindly or fragile. You should consider touching up the Black Python aka the Viper. Serously I don't know how that thing can even stand on those flamingo legs.

I was wondering at which stage of design do you think of the variants a unit can have? Do you have to design spots in advanced of where different equipment will go or just redo an area that will have something placed there?

You mean the arm actuator pods? They made sense when small and modular looking. With more beefy hands they're hard to not make a central structure.

ShimmeringSword

If anything this Crow is taller than the original (when considering the legs), but it has a slightly longer nose/cockpit area. For the fists/arms we went with the MW4/MC2 era Ryoken look with big fists, so it's not entirely out of nowhere.

ShimmeringSword

Understandable, but I'm not the first person to go with beefy fists. MW4 had them so I used that as reference.

For most mechs, not at all. For the these Clan omnis some thought is given, but not in any way that would compromise the look. Most of them definitely have "pods" for weapons, but for the sake of looks they're somewhat integrated.

Now seeing the 3D sculpt it looks pretty awesome. Not quite as line-y as as the left image above it which I really like. Definitely looks tough as hell.
