July Exclusive Render #2 - Lindsey + Dev Update (+Android Update) (Patreon)

Hey everyone!

I've made this post accessible to all patrons so freshmen and sophomores enjoy this exclusive render :)

TLDR:
- We spent a lot of time improving our processes and still are.
- Episode 2 will be considerably smaller than Episode 1, but it will be much more polished, especially writing and plot wise.
- College Kings has a long future ahead of it and in the long term these changes will allow us to increase both the quality and quantity of releases.
- The goal is to release a new Episode every 2-3 months, with Patreon getting Episodes roughly 2 weeks before any other platform as early access.
- We will from now on port the android versions ourselves, with Episode 1 android releasing with Episode 2 Pc release. This will allow us to support bugs fully as well as release android simultaneously with PC in the future.  
- Q&A video is coming later this week.

Episode 2 "The Pool Party" will release in Fall. We have a rough release date in mind, but we won't share anything more specific until we're certain to avoid having to delay the episode.

In the past, I've been critisized, so I will try my best to keep my excitement in bound. I will post more specifics on what you can expect from Episode 2 in the future but here are the main takeaways:

Even though the gap between Episode 1 & 2 will be roughly the same as the gap between CK1 Act 3 and Ck2 Ep1, Episode 2 will be considerably smaller than Episode 1.

This is because we've spent about 2 months on improving Episode 1 post release as well as completely overhauling our development process.

Episode 1 showed us what inconsistencies, mistakes and problems can arise from our previous ad-hoc approach. (My bad, I didn't really know how to make a game, this is still my first one.)

We've spent a lot of time overhauling this process and that means the following:
1) We are still in the active process of automating and improving most of our development practices, so a lot of our time has gone into that, rather than purely into content production
2) Because this is our first update with the new processes, we may run into unexpected issues that can slow down production until they are fixed

However, we're not doing these changes for the fun of it, we do them because we believe College Kings has a big future ahead of it and years of content to come. We wanted to optimize our process because it will massively improve the quality and quantity of content we can put out over time.

Whilst Episode 2 will be smaller, I do believe it to be much higher quality, especially from a writing and plot perspective, with tons of exciting and meaningful scenes.

It should also be much more polished on release than Episode 1 was.

Furthermore, I think that ~6 months from now, we will be able to put our more content every Patreon Update than previously possible without having to sacrifice quality.

On the Android front, we've decided to port android ourselves from now on. We've never done this before, but it should allow us to fix bugs and release them at the same time as PC & MAC versions do. Episode 1 android version will release with Episode 2 PC version and Episode 2 android will follow a few weeks after that. And from then on we hopefully release them simultaneously with each release and we'll be able to give full bug support for android.
