Actually i got a question. How does your "Bridge Edge Loop" function not kill the uv mapping of her skin?

Hi Harley! I'm not sure but I guess the same UV from the first selection is reused to this new mesh :)

But the UV Map gets a total mess for me. At least the vertices that are created by the Bridge Edge Loop function.

You can do it by selecting the vertex and press U to unwrap but don't forget first mark seams.
