Hey folks!
First and foremost I want to welcome all my new patrons. This last month has been my biggest month in terms of growth since I started this as a side hustle two years ago. Between this Patreon, VTT marketplaces, and various freelance work I have managed to do this full-time for over a year, but if I continue to grow at this pace, this thing will actually be a sustainable career, and maybe sooner than I realized. So thank you all so much for being here and for your support. I quite literally could not be doing this without you.
So I've got a few updates to share with you. First, I want to give a shout-out my friends Lenora and Sean and their Kickstarter project, which has crushed its funding goal and is reaching the final weeks of its campaign. Lenora is an artist and writer, and someone I've had the privilege of working with over at Night Owl Odysseys. Sean (McRoMusic) composes for the Night Owls as well, while managing his own Patreon and working with Brave New Worlds.
My friends at Lenora’s Tiny Hut have just launched their first Kickstarter for their Zinequest project, The Shrouded Coast. Lenora and Sean have been brainstorming this project for the past year and decided to use Zinequest to see how much interest there was in their idea. They plan to hopefully launch a hardcover setting guide based around The Shrouded Coast and the lands beyond in the future, but for now, you can support The Shrouded Coast on Kickstarter!
Check it out HERE
The Shrouded Coast is a 5e compatible mini-setting guide, player options book, magic item compendium, and more wrapped up into a small, space-saving zine! Based on American folklore and the concept of “Americana,” inside you’ll find information about the hub city of New Hope, its inhabitants, a short starter adventure taking place on The Shrouded Coast, and tons of new player options!
What’s In Store:
- A uniquely Americana mini-setting guide
- Monsters and NPCs based on cryptids and American folklore
- 12 new subclasses to help players thrive on The Shrouded Coast
- A short, bewitching starter adventure
- Magic items designed with purpose and storytelling in mind
I hope you all enjoy the work they've been doing at Lenora's Tiny Hut- they have kindly included a preview pdf which I've attached to the bottom of the post. Now to turn the attention to some other creators, I hope you all enjoyed the last two collaborative releases I just posted this week. If you didn't catch them, I strongly encourage you to check them out, as they are loaded with extra content from some awesome creators including Borough Bound, Cze & Peku, Tabletop RPG Music, Limithron, Venatus Maps, and Stained Karbon Maps. I've been really fortunate to work with such talent! If you have been enjoying the Spelljammer content, then the last two releases should be a treat.
Which brings me to my final topic: future content! I *love* the Spelljammer setting, even if there have been some valid critiques from the community relating to the recent release. I can only assume that you all like them too, given the little spike of new patrons. But I also don't want anyone who is definitely not planning on running that sort of content be alienated either while I ride out this hype wave. So I know I've not done a boss monster map for the last couple months, breaking my usual precedent, as I've had a pretty packed release schedule and I've wanted to get as many ships out as I could. I still plan on releasing some more ships in the coming months, but I'd like to know if you'd prefer I start spacing them out a bit or if you're happy with me going all-in for another month or two.
