This is one of my favorite movies!! It was so well made and that wedding scene always has me crying. Astrid is an amazing woman I can't believe her husband was such a fool to cheat on her! Any man would be lucky to have her. This movie - the books are a series so there's supposed to be a second movie (there are three books in total) so I'm hoping over the next few years we will get the second movie. The food also made me very hungry haha! The family is a Christian family so maybe that's why there were similarities, but Singapore was also a former British territory/colony so that could be why the wedding is very similar to western weddings.
