Wow now that's a series opener! Did you clock that Daniel Mays who plays the officer under investigation, was the police officer who was investigating and interviewing Dennis Nilsen; when we watched Des. Also, if ya going to say it, you must get it right. It's "Are you taking THE piss." Taking 'a' piss, is just 'going for a slash', 'having a jimmy riddle, (rhyming slang for piddle.) Which is is also slang for having a pee. The more polite expression is 'Taking the mick' or Taking the Mickey, both abridged from, taking the Michael. Of which the origins are interesting I'm sure. As these things usually are. But taking the piss, is probably reserved more instances of anger. "Are you fooking taking the piss bruv" ect ect. 😁
