I don't know if I should be sad or happy that we have already reached the end of season 2. On the one hand, I can not wait for you to experience the awesomeness that is season 3 (I've been looking forward to this ever since you decided to watch TO!) but on the other hand we are getting closer and closer to the end of this show and I don't want this to end. It's just sooo much fun :) But for now I'll just try and focus on my excitement about you soon starting to watch my favorite season of TO and one of my favorite seasons of TV history (that last episode man...ohhh you are not ready!). I really, really liked season 2. It is my second favourite season of TO, right after season 3. And that's mostly thanks to the great new actors/actresses we got. Daniel Sharman as Kol, brought this extremely likeable, mischievious side to Kol (that the other version of Kol was lacking in my opinion) and his slowly blossoming relationship with Davina was one of the very few occasions where I was actually really enjoying a romantic relationship. Because what TO does really well is that they don't make the romantic entanglements their primary focus, but it's only kind of playing in the background. And I find that very refreshing. And that is probably why I do, surprisingly, like quite a few of the romantic realtionships in this show, such as Kol/Davina, Elijah/Gia and Klaus/Cami (though we don't know yet if they will get it on or not. Poor Cami, she was so ready for that kiss at the end :D ). Okay, I got sidetracked lol. I was talking about the new actors/actresses of the show. And of course I have to mention Maisie Richardson, who played Rebekah this season. She is so damn attractive and so bloody talented. I IMMEDIATELY thought: Yes, that IS Rebekah! Her performance was spot on! And you probably know how much I love the OG version of Rebekah but I would be lying if I said that I am mad that we got the Eva Sinclaire version at the end. And last but definitely NOT least, we got the man, the myth, the legend, one of the finest actors, Yusuf Gatewood as Finn Mikaelson and later as Vincent Griffith. I can't tell you how infinitely happy it made me that the writers/creators of the show chose to keep Vincent in the story after Finn Miakelson's "essence" (? :D ) left his body. Then we have Claudia Black as aunt Dahlia. She is probably my favourite villain of the TVDU. She brought so much gravitas, charisma, and a weird dark kind of sensuality to this character. Whenever she was talking I was completely mesmerized! And she was really powerful and I loved how much the Mikaelsons struggled to defeat her (even with the help of Papa Mikaelson!) But this leads me to one of my few negative points. It was pretty well established, that Dahlia is a bad bitch. She is wickedly smart, driven and powerful and she has a cold, cold heart. And those were all things I loved about her. That's what made her a great villain. And there were so many FIRE scenes in which she demonstrated her powers- like the fight against Klaus and Mikael in that church! So it was kind of disappointing how easily she was defeated at the end. Yes, I get what they were trying to do. This show is all about the complicated bonds of family, and I am all for it, it's one of the main reasons why I like the show as much as I do-- but still...after all the built up and this insanely intense previous episode, I was expecting an epic fight. An epic climax to a great season and a great villain. I feel like they could have done that little sister-hug scene AND an intense fight between all of them. But, alas, we only got this one kind of cool move where she turns the white oak stake into little splinters that she makes them breathe in, but after that it's just the Mikaelson siblings gasping pathetically in the background while Esther, who is shackled and completely powerless, manages to incapcitate her insanely powerful sister, with such an ease that it's almost laughable. I did like the little afterlife scene. But overall I feel like they could have done more. Especially since this was the finale of this season. Just like with the last Sherlock episode- this felt a little too rushed and neat and picture perfect. Another minor gripe with this season is how fast they abandoned the red door storyline. We got a handful of scenes right after Elijah's imprisonment (like him slaughtering all the patrons of the diner) and then in later episodes only a mention here or there (previous episode „Is that a hint of the fabled beast behind the red door, brother? Come on, let him out to play!“ or this episode „Easy, Elijah, I can see your red door swinging wide open!“. But other than that they didn't really explore this storyline. And I reaally wanted to see an untethered, wild Elijah. So fingers crossed that maybe they'll pick up that storyline in later seasons! But by far my biggest gripe woth this season was the werewolves storyline. It really dragged this season down for me. It felt like the writers didn't know what to do with Hayley, so they made her queen of this pack and gave her this really awkward romance. And then they thought „Okay, we need some more queer representation!“ so let's also give Josh a boyfriend- but to make it a bit more dramatic, let's have his love interest be a werewolve. And we all know Vampires and Werewolves are mortal enemies, so it's kind of a forbidden love. Yeah, that really didn't work for me. I love my man Josh- but his „You are so hot, let's be together!“ „But we can't! I am putting you in danger. It's best we break up!“ „You still hot, bro, let's get back together!“ relationship with Aiden was boring and at times even a bit annoying. I prefer Josh's cute friendship with Davina and his bromance with Marcel over this romantic nonsense. But having said that, I still enjoyed this season immensely! The pacing was pretty great, the characters (apart from the werwolves) were absolutely brilliant and the storylines (again, apart from the werwolves!) were absolutely gripping. And the dialogues were, as always, top notch! Sooo many good quotes. And now I am (beyond) excited to see your reaction to my personal favourite (but according to many polls I've seen it's also THE fan-favourite) season of the Originals. I know I myself just binge-watched TO (and I never watched past the first half of s6 of TVD) and didn't stick to a viewing order BUT I've been told that if you want to get the best experience out of it, you should stick to the viewing order. It didn't much matter for season 2 as there were no crossovers with TVD but there will be a few coming up in seasons 3-5 of TO. Thank you for this great season 2 reaction journey. I had an absolute blast! I love listening to your theories, I love listening to your rants, I love your little man-crush (bro crush? :D ) on Elijah and I love that you always seem to give 110%. I truly appreciate you and the amazing content you create :)

And to get you even more hyped about the next season (in a spolier-free and vague way) : This season Elijah will get to do more than just running after Klaus, cleaning up his brother's messes and being the honorouble one. Season 3 is my favourite season for Elijah (well, and for Klaus. And for some of the other characters ;) ).
