That show — someone else said this, so I'm only repeating it, but it fits perfectly my thoughts as well. "This show had no business being that good!" From start to finish through all criteria, it delivered always very good work and plenty of exceptional moments. The last episode is no exception to that. Phrases like "I would have had your son killed for that, but I guess we are ahead on this account..." are top-notch writing for an evil but also pragmatic character like Silco and full fletched shows are too stupid to deliver such lines. The action is great, as is the tragedy within. I like the music, but I do not want to repeat myself here for no good reason. The characters are great as well — Mels mom, for example — many were disgusted by her appearance and mannerism, but honestly, she is just a perfect depiction of a character like hers and that as a woman in a role usually occupied by males. Anyway, I'm looking forward to a character tier list — a hard one with Arcane — because all the characters had something great about them. Maybe not that hard because some characters could shine more than others, but there was no bad character or really bad story telling in this show, down to the shimmer addict who tried to help his old friend VI but was just an addict that could not resist the urge. Can I give a top 3? Hardly. Sure, Silco is just awesome; he has to be up there, but Jayce was also great, a guy trying to do right by everyone, making it nearly impossible to succeed until he found his footing. Jinx, a crazy girl, is not my favourite, but seeing her on the table and how helpless she was against her mental demons in that moment was quite something. Usually I'm like, "Put the crazy ones down; they are lost" but in that moment, it would have been particularly hard to do it. Well, whatever — the top three in no order. Silco, Jayce, Mel (/Viktor/VI). Man, even Sevika was great. For people who know the game and, by that, the characters, you can find some Easter eggs, of course and you are in a position to judge how well the show translated the game and those characters into the show. Their abilities, so to speak. Very artistic, very well thought through.

Oh don't you worry. I will be requesting this once the new series comes out but I don't think its until this fall? Like November. I can't speak for everyone but they are putting in an enormous amount of effort so I would say its so worth the wait. Being able to rewatch it so many times before the second season has opened my eyes to a lot of things i missed. When you left the table in a fury after the ending, that shocked me...I did not expect that! Sorry about the sudden lack of closure at the end there but unless Jayce developed a forcefield (which we see is possible with the power fists earlier) then everyone in the council chambers is assuredly dead. I would say my top 3 characters are probably Silco, Victor, and Sevika. But that's more of which I like better, rather than which is the best written character. They are all written spectacularly. The fight scenes have been phenomenal. The buildup is LOTR-esque where its so consistent in its quality that over time the story builds and builds into something far greater than when it started. Lastly, I would say that IF they enter season 2 with Jynx seizing power, I will be upset. She plays off way more like a wildcard Joker-esque villain rather than someone concerned with the monotonous ins and outs of running a drug empire. And I don't see her having the experience to maintain control of the undercity. Also given the fact that she shot one of silco's goons mid-season, I'm guessing this isn't the first time its happened, and so she may not be as popular amongst her peers. I think it would be much better with Sevika at the helm.

I am less familiar with the game... Now in the show there is quite a lot of leadership roles being held by women, and there doesn't appear to be any blatant sexism amongst the characters... I know that you mentioned about Mel's mother being "a woman in a role usually occupied by males" What I am curious about, given your knowledge about the game and the lore.... Is sexism canonical in this universe? Or is this more of a meta comment about the world in general? And do you think there is any better Mob-boss style villain in media? One that outclasses Silco in competence and intelligence? I just love villains that aren't dumb.... Antagonists which are painted as intelligent (but are actually really stupid) really grinds my gears :(

i was just so into the episode that when it ended I was pissed but in a good way. Jinx would be horrible as a leader. If anyone followers her it would be out of fear not loyalty. Chaos would explode. Sevika would be much better. I agree.
