Today I want to show you how to spice up a simple chord progression in G major by using many colorful ukulele chords. One of the most simple ways to make chords more colorful is to change their voicing. The voicing is the singing note of the chord (the highest note). A basic G major chord played with 0232 will have the voicing on the first string fret 2 (the note B). We can change the voicing of a chord with a note that is found either above or below the voicing. Changing the voicing will create a beautiful melody within the chord. Let me show you how to do that. 🎸UKULELE I AM USING: Makai LT80.

Marco, May I ask... how much reverb are you using there? Thanks! I am learning this, and I appreciate your hardwork😉

I am actually asking about the Canon in “G” video 😉

Hi Diana, thanks for the comment (it's the first one on this uke page :). Usually, I set the reverb at around 7 seconds long but I keep it low (probably 20%) so it doesn't sound too loud. :)

Thanks so much! I will work with it. Your chord/piece arrangements are beautiful and your tutorials are perfect for learning. I have been a musician for a long time but added ukulele 3.5 years ago. Fell in love. I’m 62😉. Thanks again and keep these beautiful pieces coming for ukulele!

Thanks a lot, Diana. Keep me posted on your progress. I will upload the Canon in D on this channel and other uke lessons. Enjoy the lessons.

Marco. At the 2min 10sec point of the video you describe the D major chord as 0220 (G D F#A). from my limited music theory the notes of D major are: D F#A. What you are describing is Dadd11 Your verbal description of the D major shape does not correspond with your music as illustrated. You make the same mistake through out the video. In two other videos you have done, you have made errors that I have commented on, so I am glad you are finally getting some staff to edit and review your music. I like what you are producing, tune wise, but now I find I am looking for your musical errors, which is a shame. I can honestly say I have not seen these sorts of thing on other teaching type videos. Also, Please stop making excuse's why there are errors etc. because of having had a new child. I am not that interested in your family life, just the music you are creating.

Absolutely! Thanks for letting me know. It is true; I did make a lot of mistakes at the beginning. I should have written the tabs before recording the lesson since GuitarPro helps you naming the chords (that's why the tab is correct). We all learn from our mistakes.
