WACUP Development Update December 2023 Through February 2024 (Patreon)

A 3 month update wasn't on the plans but the end of year update went out of the window & then the last 2 months have flown by so I'll try to keep this update fairly brief.
Since the last update at the end of November, beta build 1.99.3.18106 went up mid January & a lot of the things that were hoping to help do appear to have met my expectations. The build however like any good beta build has finally helped track down some of the random lock-ups / failures that have been plaguing things & I'm tentatively thinking I've not got them resolved.
The 18106 beta build also saw the removal of legacy mode which means the betas & what'll become the eventual next preview build now no longer needs the original winamp.exe for WACUP to run at all as it's now got it's own equaliser implementation (something that needs a bit more refinement but hasn't been causing crashes unlike was seen for some when trying to re-use the winamp solution).
There's still some of the 5.666 plug-ins being re-used & that'll be a focus for later this year to get more of them replaced with WACUP native plug-ins though portables & modern skin support will for the time being have to keep being done via re-used versions.
For the near term state of things, the next beta build will be ready next month & then depending on the timing of that build along with how well it behaves, a newer preview build will either be uploaded towards the end of March or early April. I think I've got around 1-2 weeks worth of smaller changes & fixes left to finish working through from various feedback received from the 17040 & 18106 builds vs time availability to get that coding done.
I've attached a copy of my current w.i.p. changelog since build 18106 for the x86 beta build (ignore the modern skin related ones for what the x64 beta build will receive) to have a look over what will definitely be in the next beta build.
