Hello, all.

I've had a pretty mental start to the year, hence almost nothing on the website.

I'm nearly back to a normal workload (I hope), but I've been scrabbling to finish my final three episodes of 4 O'Clock Club (yes: ever) which film in a couple of weeks. We've had an insanely tight pre-production schedule... and, coupled to that, the last few Digi videos had issues with the sound, which meant they took roughly twice as long to edit as normal.

I have to say though... not writing articles for the website has made a big difference in terms of what I can realistically churn out without almost killing myself. Videos + daily articles + a day job was too much to be honest, and so I think that even when this mad workload passes, it's unlikely I'm going to go back to regular daily articles for the foreseeable.

I know some of you will be disappointed - certainly we lost a few Patrons this month, for whom the videos alone clearly weren't doing it -  but not writing an article every day has made me realise how much I was going through the motions for most of the past year, as I sort of fell in love with making YT content. And, again, burning myself out in the process.

I'm sure I'll rediscover my mojo there at some point, but, for the moment, I'm focusing on the videos, writing these sorts of updates and blogs on here, and using the website as a hub for Digi news.

I at least hope you'll agree that the extra time I've had has really made a difference to the quality of the YouTube output. Plus, I've got a live show to put together over the next few months...

And I still need to get DVDs out to the Kickstarter backers, before they kill me.

THE END?

We're nearly at the end of this first run of Digi Deluxe videos - rest assured, there will be more, as I love them, and this week's Upside-Down Challenge (watch it if you haven't already) might be the best of the lot. After that, we'll be back behind the dining room table... albeit, hopefully, with a bit of a step up in terms of the look, and more focused content compared to what we were doing before.

The Deluxe eps finally saw us put on some new subscribers after months of stagnation, so we need to find a way to turn that into some real momentum without compromising what makes us unique.

Ironically, we're also planning to go the other way, with a few slightly rougher-and-readier sorts of videos, which Sanja and I might be able to turn round relatively quickly. To be honest, even when we're not in the studio there's a huge amount of setting-up required, and sometimes we lose a bit of spontaneity. Therefore, Sanja had an idea for a format that works with just the two of us, and we're going to give them a go soon.

Later in the year we're also talking about doing another sort of limited-run series, to coincide with the Olympics. This will be the - probably four-episode - Digitiser Sports Day, hopefully with some special guests involved. No more details for now!

I think that's it in terms of news. There are less than 100 tickets left for Digi Live. I know a few of you have concerns about Coronavirus, but all we can do is hope for the best, carry on as normal, and adapt as and when the situation changes. I've read that they expect the crisis to last three or four months, which hopefully should mean we'll be fine by the end of July. We'll see... but for now, let's all assume nothing is affected.

I mean, it's not me I'm worried about anyhow, but my parents are in their mid-80s, and neither is in great health. I admit, I am anxious about them getting it.

But anyway! That's it for now. Speak to you anon.

My dad is 87 and while his general health is OK (for someone his age) I don't know if he'd have the resilience to cope with something like Coronavirus, so I know how you're feeling about things.

I'm concerned for my bestie who is vulnerable to these types of things :( As far as the website/videos thing, it's just change innit. Folk with come (fnar) folk will go, and some of us will stay no matter what because there'll always be something digi that we like
