So... today we had our first day of filming our brand new show... DIGITISER DELUXE!!

What is Digitiser Deluxe? Well, it's a whole new concept in entertainment, a new paradigm of... nah, it's just what we normally do, more or less, but... in a studio.

Basically, we wanted to do some games and segments with more people than normal, so we needed more space. And as the studio will look different to where we normally film, I thought we should give these episodes a different name and branding. Why? Marketing!

We'll have a different theme tune and intro is all. And some new guests - Sooz Kempner, Ash Frith, as well as more from Chris Bullock (this time without the distraction of simultaneously recording the sound), and (hopefully) making his first full on-screen appearance... our resident musical maestro Chris Jerden-Cooke.

I hope Chris doesn't mind me revealing this, but he always says he doesn't want to be on stage, yet at both Digitiser Live and the Found Footage premiere, he demonstrated that once you put a microphone in front of him, he's somehow always funny and engaging. So I'm keen to put him on camera too. No pressure though, love!

Beyond that, today might've been the best day of filming we've ever done since we started the Digi Minis last year. The new focus and direction has really, really made a difference, without losing any of the usual chaos that makes us... us.

We only shot three episodes today, but one of them in particular is the most complicated thing we've done since Digitiser The Show. I can't wait to start with the edit on that one especially.

I hope to give them all the sort of distinctly Digi-esque finishing touches that last Sunday's ep had. Going into today, and coming up with the ideas beforehand, I was very much thinking about what the edit will consist of. It's about giving myself the necessary raw material so that I can go to town.

I've also realised that having even numbers on-screen is the key. When there are three of us, it feels oddly unbalanced, but once you add or subtract one person... somehow it all gels beautifully.

Today was the first of three filming days this week. We're also shooting some desk stuff at the weekend with another special guest. Some of you know him as DJ Trendy Peanut, but to the rest of the world he's my best friend Anthony. I thought it'd be fun to try doing some eps with him, to see what happens, as he's a very funny man, and we basically bicker like children.

I think having a real mix of different people, with the through-line of myself, plus Gannon and Sanja, helps to keep things fresh, and bring a new energy so that it's not the same thing week in week out.

And the fact we could film somewhere different today is all thanks to your continued support. As well as the studio space, we also hired a car to lug the gear around (I've not owned a car for over a year now), and that all comes out of the Patreon fund, as well as cost of props etc.

I'm going to put up some behind-the-scenes photos for the higher tier backers, to say an extra thank you to them, but to all of you... seriously, again... thank you. It feels like the channel is really finding its feet, and we're getting it closer to what I always wanted it to be.

You're going to really start to notice a difference.

Great work Mr B! Happy that I helped make it happen (through Patreon, not the Power of Positive Thinking!)

It's great to hear you sounding so enthusiastic, Paul. As paradoxical as it might sound, I really believe that your more structured approach will inspire you to be even more creative. The idea of you, Paul and Sanja forming the show's spine, with other guests to play off sounds like exactly what you need - continuity but with constant refreshment.

Chris is a lovely chap I've had the rude pleasure of knowing for a few years through various fandom circles. Seeing him involved in your various projects has been a real pleasure, and seeing him up on stage last year was great too and I'm really glad there's more to come.

Did you manage to fill in the back wall of the studio with a blue biro to make us feel more at home? Looking forward to the luxury Digitiser!

So it’s not your front room?
