Planning has begun on Digitiser Live 2.0...!

Sanja and I have been batting ideas around today, and putting together a rough running order. I've also been speaking with Gannon about some of the stuff we were talking about.

This might all change, but we're currently looking at giving the show a very (that's VERY) loose theme that'll take us through the history of gaming from the 70s to The Future. Segments will tie into that theme one way or another, but mostly... it's just an excuse for us to dick around, and find a way to scale up some of our favourite Digi Mini regular features. We think we know how the show is going to open and close, and it should be a spectacular shambles, in all the right ways. Some of it is absurdly ambitious, but that simply heightens the possibility of it all falling apart. Which I know most of you expect and want to happen.

Now... I'm not confirming or denying anything, so don't mention this to anyone, but could you imagine if we had a guest line-up that included Violet Berlin, Iain Lee, Big Boy Barry and Sooz Kempner? Obviously, this is completely hypothetical - I mean, obviously it is - but could you imagine that? That would be quite a thing to behold wouldn't it - a perfect storm of retro gaming celebs - if they were involved in the on-stage madness...?

But aaaaanyway... completely hypothetical guest line-ups aside, when the time is right, we will indeed confirm the guests we have.

Talking of Sooz though, she's coming in to film some Digi Minis with us the week after next, as is the marvellous Ash Frith, who some of you might know from Cheapshow and Barshens, as well as his own podcast Pranks And Firth. I think I've mentioned that we're booking my mate's little studio for a couple of days so we can do some bigger sorts of things. One of them will be a loose, smaller scale, dry run for an idea I've got for the live show.

One other thing I'm thinking of doing is a series of short eps, kind of inspired by the Omelette Ants clip I showed you yesterday, called Mr Biffo's Mysterious Hole. I've kind of started toying around with one, as a weird, Arthur C. Clarke's Mysterious World-type show on subjects such as ghosts and UFOs. If I do it, I might release them midweek on the main channel, or as-and-when.

I'd really missed editing that kind of go-anywhere-messed-up nonsense, and this feels like the perfect format. I only had the idea yesterday, but it's one of those notions - like I had with Found Footage - that I've got a feeling is going to stick. Plus it has a funny title.

But we'll see.

Speak anon!

PS. Go and buy live show tickets. Still/only 150 or so left.

This all sounds really promising for the live show and I think the proposed theme would work really well and provide a platform to do exactly what you want. The mysterious Hole idea is intriguing. Partly doe to the suitability of your material for it but also because of your previous history, I had been thinking that some sort of comedy and/or surreal version of Fortean TV could would really well. Obviously it's just my opinion and I am not presumptuous enough to tell you what to do. I feel a genuine energy about the upcoming live show.

Don't stare too long into Mr Biffo's Mysterious Hole...

Yay to guests, especially Violet and Iain :)

Oh, we are very excited. Glad you're going to be there again, John!

The hole idea is absolutely a winner. Obviously it would be unprofessional of me to comment on hypotheticals. * Muffled delight squeals *

If Mr Biffo's Mysterious Hole does not begin with footage of you walking down a sunny beach holding an umbrella while a voice over explains how you ponder the mysteries of this and other worlds I will be disappointed.

WhatHoSnorkers

That all sounds delightful Mr & Mrs B!

These hyperthetical guests(/taps nose) sound great....now if you could add Andy Crane in a skit where both himself and Violet are still doing `bad Influence` in an empty studio as nobody told them the show had stopped or held at gun point. then I would be very happy ;)

It would be awesome to see Violet Berlin.
