So, today is Digi filming day. We've got some new lighting - which we started playing around with the weekend before last (you'll have seen the results of our experiments in the Iceland taste test vid). We're slowly getting production levels up to a point that I'm happy with.

We're also trying some different things today - a few game formats that are our own, and very silly. Gannon and I both enjoyed the Game Off card game we played last time we got together, so we're going to try some more of those too.

It's also a bit of a mini Barshens reunion as Eli will be here once again, along with Chris Bullock, who some of you will know as the Barshens sound recordist - but she also worked on Found Footage and Digitiser The Show. As well as testing out her new sound kit - lapel mics for the first time in a Digi Mini! - we'll be roping her into at least a couple of eps. Along with Sanja, who seems to have been a bit of a hit after her first appearance at the weekend.

Other things we've got scheduled for today - time dependent - include a Pokemon game (yes: actual gaming content!), a look at some 1980s chemistry sets, the potter's wheel we were kindly sent last year, more Brucie magic, more Beanus, more Fat Sow... and more more!

For next month's filming we're going to be doing something a little different. As well as, hopefully, some location filming, we're hiring out my mate's studio, so we can get out from behind the desk. As we'll have some extra space, we're planning to invite some special guests. The only one I can confirm at the minute is the brilliant Sooz Kempner - who some of you will have seen at Digi Live.

Lastly, those of you in the $5-and-above tier waiting on my part 2 of my 10 Commandments... it should be up in the next couple of days.

Many thanks for this Paul. Hope the day goes well. For technically-minded and NOSEY people such as myself, I'd be very interested to know what lights you've gone for, and any other techy/production details useful for people thinking about similar filming.

Oooh, sounds like exciting times ahead, looking forward to Sooz's particular brand of humour mixing with the Digi chaos.

Our main lights are dimmable ring lights on a tripod, but I also got some wand lights - they look like stunted lightsabers basically - which I used last time as an overhead spot. You can change the colour on them, so we might experiment a bit with those. The last couple of filming sessions we've used three ring lights, but this time I'm going to take us down to two, and see if we can get some more interesting contrast and shadows...!
