A few days ago I decided to use my Sony a7s to shoot some street photography.

The idea here is that I wanted to shoot from the hip with a capable camera equipped with a flipping LCD monitor, so I though of this camera because it's the only pro camera I have with a tilty screen. Reason behind this is that lately I'm being confronted with people that ask to see the picture I just took of them so I can delete it and frankly I'm tired of it, and the last time I didn't even take any picture of the guy. So I feel that looking down in a screen cuts the eye contact. It works, most of the people were not aware that I was taking pictures and I think I also was more capable of composing what I wanted.

I was range focusing using a Super Takumar 35mm F3.5. That diffused look comes from the Tiffen GlimmerGlass 3. I love how cinematic these came out compared to the Ricoh GR, a very different look.

Each time I see a full frame photo I remember how great the full frame look is.

I originally bought the a7s to make a video rig with it, I did, used it a few times, it's great, but it's also a great camera for photos. Although it's only 12.2MP, I don't really mind, it's so small for a full frame, and also the low light on this camera is just insane for the time.

Anyway, I'm glad I made this exercise, great results, will use it more I'm sure now.
