Last Sunday night I went to another wrestling show, and probably the best one I saw yet, BattleWar from les foufoune électriques.

It may have been my best show yet because we had sick places, right next to the ring, at one point I felt like I was actually in the ring since we were so close in the action, what a rush!

I cut this post into two parts just because there are lots of photos, next one coming soon right after this. I even slim this into approx 150 photos, I shot more than 350 after the initial draft but I don’t wanna drown you guys in wrestling photos, I selected the best ones I think.

So here my deal was to shoot off camera flash with the Ricoh, similar to what I did on the streets once. I wanted the harsh flash look, especially in black and white. Also, since I was super close, this was possible. Looking at these photos now, imo these are my best wrestling shots yet.

However, before using the Ricoh, I used the X-Pro2 for a few shots, here are the best ones:

I switched rapidly to the Ricoh because I felt I was too close with 35mm on the X-Pro and it was also difficult to auto-focus in low light. No problem focusing with the Ricoh since I used range focusing.

So yeah, main gallery of images above are all from the Ricohgr3, mainly all with flash, however I still took a few without it. I hope I didn’t blind them too much, it’s a pretty harsh method, but they didn’t seem to mind.

Part 2 next!
